View Full Version : So who has been the best WR THIS SEASON

kethnaab
10-27-2010, 12:45 PM
this season. Not in the past. Not reputation. THIS SEASON.

Some ideas:

1) Roddy White - ridiculously productive, game in, game out. He recently had a huge game vs. Cinci, but he's played very well all season. Best WR in the NFL *THIS SEASON SO FAR* (inb4bacon)

2) Hakeem Nicks - he's gotten ridiculously good at weaseling his way open in the red zone.

3) Brandon Lloyd - torrid pace earlier in the season, slowed down the last 2 weeks, to go along with Orton slowing down a bit.

4) Santana Moss - quietly putting up great numbers (96/1250) for a team with no other receiving threats at the wideout position, a castaway RB, and a QB who is playing the worst ball of his NFL career

lol at you coming into any nfl thread and rattling off dolphin players. BMarsh doesn't come near anyone listed statwise (maybe moss). And he has only 1 TD.

Edit: Im not trolling you, I just saw your post in the gnarliest defenders thread.

Reggie Wayne deserves a mention surely? 45 catches from 66 targets, 602 yards, 2 TDs. #2 in WR first downs behind Roddy White, with a much higher percentage.

considered it, but aside from 1 game vs. one of the worst passing defense in the NFL (Jax), he has been fairly "pedestrian", i.e. "darn good". Not trying to bust his chops, just hasn't been quite as impressive, and he's arguably not even the best WR on the Colts (THIS SEASON)

to go along with 7 less TD receptions.

TO has more yards than both. Talented WRs have huge games here and there. Great players having great seasons have a ton of "good games" interspersed with their huge games.

Not a knock on Marshall. Hometown favorite of mine, pure beast. I just think others belong on this list right now.

Season's young. Marshall has tons of time, he'll get more consistent as he and Henne learn each other.

This is true, and I agree to an extent, taking away the Jacksonville game takes out a huge chunk of yardage and receptions, but he's still been relatively consistent in the other games, to the point where I think he's definitely in consideration for the top 4/5 guys this year.

So far yes. The point isn't about who would you draft, it's about who is playing the best this year. Fitz is still Fitz, but he's been doing nothing because he's not been getting the football much. Lloyd on the other hand has been playing well, and with the opportunities he's had, on the team he's playing for, with the numbers he has put up, he's definitely a top 3/4 guy this year.

He's the #1 WR, certainly, but as for MVP, I'd say he warrants being mentioned in the discussion, but is some way off the pace for actually being MVP.
