Hi peoples,

I am currently bulking, I have 55g of oats twice a day once for breakfast and once pre workout along with some whey. My question is what an optimal amount of oats I can have at these meals. Or more precisely how far can I push the amount of oats I eat at these meal. If I up my oats pre workout to 80-100 is this a stupid amount or not?

What sort of servings do you guys have?

I know this may sound stupid to some people.

Thanks. All

It's a great source of carbs. Have as much as you want while fitting it into your macros.

I throw half a cup into the blender when I make my shake in the morning, and a cup of oats with a scoop of whey & some fruit pre-workout.

Optimal for what? I mean, as long as it fits in your macros for the day, you're good. Presumably your macros are set up for your current bodybuilding goal, after all. There's no single optimum amount of oats...unless you count my preferred "two metric ****loads".

> What sort of servings do you guys have?
I eat half cup servings. Once for breakfast, another for pre-workout (second lunch), and a third post-workout (dinner). On rest days I may skip the pre-workout serving, but oats make up the majority of my daily carbs, which I presently try to keep around 100g.

Only like half a cup right now, ground up and in my morning shake, but when I bulk alot more. If you've got a food processor, take a bag (or can) and blend the oats into almost like a flour, and then you can just put it in an old supplement container and scoop it right into shakes. Honestly tastes great, and much quicker than cooking them. Blend em good though, at least 30 seconds to incorporate them well.

Thanks people, loving the responses. I didnt want to get down 80g of oats in one go if there was a reason why it would be a bad idea.

Just paranoia i suppose. Need to up my carbs and love the oats, wanted to see how much you guys eat per sitting,

80g for breakfast 1 (pancake form)
80g for breakfast 2 (proatmeal)
40g PWO (ground)
80g pre-bed (more proatmeal)

So 240-280g/day, non-workout/workout

Sometimes I worry about getting a little excessive on soluable fiber and maybe it's interfering w/ calorie absorbtion, but, eh, I do like oats.

I eat 1-3 cups of oats a day, Nothing wrong with them! Heck if I could eat Proat's for every meal of the day I would!

My normal breakfast is
1cup oats, 1/2cup pumpkin, 1tsp cinnamon

Pre Workout
1cup oats, 1scoop whey

Post Workout
1/2-1cup oats, 1scoop whey (if 1/2cup then banana to make up carbs/cal)

And sometimes I eat my Pre / Post meal even on off days. If I can fit Oats into my Macro's for the day I eat the sheet out of them.

Anything between 60g and 120g per day, loving them just now. Always have them for breakfast, then either pre or post workout.
