Has the nfl gone too far on protecting qbs , recievers, hell all of the offense from defenders? They are always wanted to fine people , place more and more stringent rules on just howu can touch a guy lol. What happened to letting these grown athletes, just play some good ol football.i was browsing youtube watchin my football clips, and think Ray Lewis pretty much says it,what do you guys think?

I'd be somewhat ok with helmet to helmet hits being banned but desvastating hits is retarded. might as well strap flags to the back of their pants. N.F.F.L

sick gif, but see I dont see anything wrong with this one at all, lead with the shoulder, no helmet, stopped keller from potentially gaining a 9 yard play, that hit also left a mark on the enxt play where he ran outta bounds on 4th down..

Something like the ryan clark hit on welker or mcgahee i think would be more suited to devastating hits.(althoguh i think the mcgahee one was clean, i forget)EDIT: nvm that was full on helmet to helmet lol, just watched it

I don't see anything wrong with it at all either, it's a fantastic hit.

There isn't anything wrong with this hit.

The problem I have with the helmet to helmet hits are that if the receiver (in this case) would have lowered his head a few inches and it ended up causing it to be helmet to helmet, the league would have a **** fit. Even when you lead with your shoulder, your head is still right there. There is no way around it. A lot of these helmet to helmet hits are not entirely the defenders fault, but they get blamed for leading with their helmet. Perfect example is the hit that knocked Boldin out a year or two ago. There were 2 defenders on the play, one hit him first which caused him to move in a direction that caused the other to have a helmet to helmet hit. How the fuk was the second defender supposed to anticipate that happening? Same goes for a lot of these hits. The defender should have to show a disregard for safety for it to be a penalty. I know it's subjective, but so is taunting, unneccesary roughness, and a few other penalties. Let the damn players play football. I can watch an offense play with no contact by attending the minicamps.
