Jesus, I hope that he actually isn't. Be terrible for something to happen like that to someone so young, or at any age.

I was at the game, Eric delivered a vicious hit on the kick returner that you could hear from the stands. Everybody was cheering the hit, and suddenly you could see Eric laying on his back stiff as a board, not moving any extremities. The trainers came over and immediately called for a stretcher. I knew it was bad at that point. Eric was on the ground for 7 minutes without movement and eventually carted off. We're all praying (I'm not religious, but that not important) for him to recover fully. It's a tragedy.

Awful, just awful. Makes you realize that football is just a game and there are far more important things in life

I remember when Zac Etheridge went down here. Really scary moment for all of us in the stands.

Prayers for the Legrand family.

damn that looked bad.. he has so much body mass than his head hitting the ball carrier seemed to put all impact on his head without any recoiling to the rest of his body.

Are you trolling? You don't "recover" from paralysis.

no, people have walked again from being paralyzed, gtfo im not here to argue

Walking again isn't recovering. You will always have nerve damage and certainly never play football again.

Adam Taliaferro from Penn State and Kevin Everett from the Buffalo Bills both had spinal injuries in the past decade from the kind of hit, and both eventually regained the ability to walk. Hoping Eric regains some movement in the next few days after swelling goes down

Madsen, Walking again and being able to live a normal life is recovering, certainly this isn't a broken leg or knee injury that can be repaired in time to play again, this is about the ability to move your limbs, so yes, walking is recovery.

I guess it depends what perspective you take. I wouldn't consider never playing football again recovering considering you spent your whole life that far giving 110% to the game.

How could you even think about playing a violent sport like football after a spinal injury, that's just asking for it.

that's why you don't hit like that... like the retard who did the same thing to DeSean Jackson and almost ended up doing more damage to himself

I would consider walking again recovering. I'm not sure if it will happen, but I hope he sees the day where he can do everyday tasks. He was a hell of a football player, but at this point I just want him to have a somewhat normal life.
