just in case you guys were concerned about the Fins.

DAVIE, Fla. -- The Miami Dolphins have fired special teams coordinator John Bonamego after a calamitous prime-time performance against the New England Patriots.

Coach Tony Sparano announced the move Tuesday, only 12 hours after the Dolphins lost 41-14. Special teams cost Miami 21 points when two blocked kicks led to touchdowns and New England returned a kickoff for another score.

The Dolphins (2-2) also had a punt blocked a week earlier in a loss to the New York Jets.

Assistant special teams coach Darren Rizzi will replace Bonamego, who was in his 12th NFL season. He had been with the Dolphins since Sparano became coach in 2008.

Rizzi took his first NFL job when the Dolphins hired him last year.

I wouldn't abandon my team. Stuck with them through thick and thin.

But holy **** that was painful..... I watched every game from the 1-15 season but I can't remember any loss being so painful and embarrasing.

Was this one bad game or a trend? You don't fire Peyton Manning for throwing 5 picks in one game.

Both times the pats played the phins in 07 was pretty bad.

Then I guess its for the better.

I saw the one blocked punt on sportscenter and it looked like the punter wasn't standing back far enough, at least a yard shorter than where he should have been, probably more like 2 full yards.

Yeah but the difference is....I actually thought the Fins had a shot at winning this game. Hell, I honestly thought they WOULD pull the victory off. I wasn't expecting anything from the 07 season.
