it's why I laugh when folks say he's better than Ben.

it's only September, Rivers was in definite January form this evening...

Actually Rivers looked pretty clutch in the second half. Had Buster Davis not fell down on that one play we would be watching OT right now. Just say'n

Giants lost their starting LT. 3 dropped passes for INT's. Terrible Specials teams....and we won easily

Pls go with these excuses.

I like RM and I'm aware that there are many reasons for a games outcome, but.... just sayin'

If Rivers had the Steelers defense, they'd have 3 superbowls right now. :)

He is better at being in trouble with the law though...I'll give him that.

Rivers has more interceptions in the postseason than TDs (or games, for that matter)

but you go ahead and keep on thinking that. It's good to be supportive of your team's players. :)

When has Rivers ever been labeled as clutch in the first place?

yep. they prattle on and on about Rivers being so much better, yet conveniently ignore how much better Rivers' rushing attack was (LT2 wasn't half bad), how good his RBs were out of the backfield, and there's that whole "best TE in the NFL" thing. Ultimately, Rivers completes 0.2% less passes for 0.2 YPA less, and has a better TD/pick ratio and a PR that is about 4 points higher in the regular season.

In the postsesaon, Rivers completes 58% of his passes vs. 62% for Ben, and has 8 TD/9 picks and a 79.2 PR. Ben's PR is 8 points higher and he has nearly twice as many TDs (15 vs. 8).

I like Rivers, but I cannot figure out the love for him here on bb.com.

on thier first 4th down try he had Lenee (i think) wide open and over threw him. on 3rd and goal at the end of the game he had i think floyd wide open in the back of the endzone and overthrew him. prertty clutch

chiefs fan here so i hate the chargers, mostly because of rivers and merriman. as a k-stater i love darren sproles though.

are we forgetting that the chargers also had a top defense in the league, top 3 special teams, best running back, and best tight end, and top offensive line?

eh, Rivers has faced some pretty good teams(especially defenses) in the playoffs over the last few years. by no means is he perfect, but the losses can't be put directly on him. I'd still like to see him win a ring before I rank him among the 'elite' quarterbacks. still plenty of time to figure it out, though.

I explained myself. Rivers has slightly better stats in the regular season, Ben has noticeably better stats in the postseason. Really quite simple.

I know it's tempting to go with Rivers, as he has gotten to face powerhouse defenses like Kansas City and Oakland and Denver twice per season for his entire career, whereas Ben has gotten to play creampuffs like the Ravens and Bengals.

come back to me when Rivers gets through a playoff game without throwing a pick then we'll talk.
