Are his current stats good enough for the HoF? He sure isn't adding much to it after his surgery.

(not srs)

I once read that there's a real physiological limit to how fast a human being can throw a baseball, no matter how much you work out or how many steroids you inject. Apparently, the angular velocity/acceleration necessary to throw a ball any faster than ~107mph would just snap your tendons right off.

2 different guns clocked it the same. The announcers mentioned it during the game.

Keep in mind that this guy only had to pitch one inning. When he becomes a full time starter he won't be blasting 104 mph pitches, probably will be around 100.

Fastball speeds seem to be a bit inflated by sports writers and others for these flamethrowing pitchers lately (Chapman, Strasburg). Not sure what his official speeds were recently, but on the first his fastest pitch was 103 mph, but according to fangraphs it was 102.7 to be exact. Also, I've never seen him hit 90 on his slider. It definitely was high 80s, 87, 88 etc. but I never saw it hit 90. Some rumors came out before his first game that he's hit 105 on the radar but I seriously doubt that would be the case. I believe that would make it the fastest pitch ever recorded. Still, he's a ridiculous talent.

If true he's really close or just doing it with ease. I'd say he's the usain bolt of baseball speed wise.

leo mazzone(best pitching coach of all time) was on the radio and said you could take 4-5 mph off of that because all the radar guns are juiced in the stadiums.

That wouldn't surprise me at all. The pitch speeds tend to be very exaggerated at times.
