View Full Version : Fat content of olive oil once it is used to cook scrambled eggs?

So I have been wondering for calculating macros, when I use 1 tbsp (14 grams of fat) of Olive Oil to cook my scrambled eggs, should I still consider it 14 grams of fat or less when calculating macros?

probably a lot of that oil remains on the pan.
However the oil doesn't change its macros if it doesn't reach the point of smoke

Nah I want the fats, I am not worried about them.

Though going from 14 grams of fats to 0 grams is big deal when it comes to calcing macros.

I aim for between 65-75 a day, so this 14 grams makes up a big portion of it.

Would it be a safer bet to just use pam and then drink the olive oil?

is there still a little n=bit of oil in the pan when you remove the eggs? If yes, you don't eqt the 14g if not, all the oil was melted with the eggs.

What I do is put the oil in the pan and then use a papertowel to spread it around the pan. This way it coats the pan but there's not any excess. Eggs don't stick, and overall just a tiny bit of oil to account for in your macros.

I scramble the eggs in a bowl with some water and olive oil. Nothing gets stuck to the pan and everything gets in my belly.

I use a spatula so none gets absorbed into a towel : D

I use milk instead of water.

Just use a stick proof pan if the problem is the sticking.... If not then theres nothing but goodness is a tablespoon of olive oil which is more than enough to scramble eggs even make omlets...I even fry my home made burgers with a table spoon of olive oil... Sometimes even lube the chain of my bike with it :)
