This. I was like wtf? a bit when I just read that Boozer went to the Bulls. But I think DRose is gonna need the ball in his hands at all times. The only piece they're missing is a good shooting guard. We all saw how great they were against the Celtics in 08 with just Gordon and Salmons.

Agreed. But this isn't a bad deal. I thought Boozer was the second best option behind Bosh - and I think Boozer fits in almost as well, if not better, than Bosh anyways. If they could have signed Johnson and Boozer, the Bulls would be stacked. I guess we'll have to settle for LeBron and Boozer. (not srs.......but clinging to hope) :)

EDIT: The Rose/Boozer pick-and-roll should be awesome.

I'm a bit confused on the money - do they have enough to offer Lebron the max still? The report said the Bulls would need to make "moves" to free up enough money to give Lebron a max deal. But this Boozer deal isn't for the max - so it has to be real close.

Any other year and this would be seen as a big move. Just overshadowed due to all the big names out there. Other than Bosh going to Miami, not much has happened this offseason (Knicks suck with or without Staudamire). If Lebron stays in Cleveland then the Bulls are in good shape for next year.

Agreed, as long as LeBron doesn't go to Miami, then we're contenders in the East.

Even if LeBron goes to NY, they're going to suck anyways because they have nobody around them.

Same goes with Miami. Chalmers and Beasley? lol cmon.

Boozer is pretty weak against real size and in clutch situations. He has been awful in the playoffs imo. With that said, he fits in really well with Chicago as a role player. Way overpaid but so are most players. James can instantly compete for a title in Chicago or Miami now. I was thinking he'd stay in Cleveland but I'm stumped now.

Amare:

23 ppg 8.9 rpg 1.0 ass

Boozer:

19.5 ppg 11.2 rpg 3.2 ass

Boozer did not play with Steve Nash, him and Deron came off injured last year, Boozer also didnt play on the very offensive minded team. Guy gets 3 more boards and is a better passer.

Lets see Amare bring Knicks back with no Stevie, no wonder medical team and no great supporting cast. lol even the way he said it with that retarded look on his face "Knicks are back!" - meaning I got paid, you were stupid enough to give me max, joke is on you Knicks

I may be wrong but I have a feeling lebron is going to Chicago. Why else would he have a press conference to have this big announcement? It just wouldn't make sense for him to stay in cleveland. Also, lebron likes being the man and he won't be joining wade/bosh in miami to share the spotlight. The only person with an ego big enough to try to live up/outdo Michael Jordan is LBJ. I think the big announcement tomorrow is that he's going to Chicago to bring the championship back. I could be wrong though, my next pick could be new york for his BIG announcement.

I wish we didnt get rid of him but he wasnt the shooter for us anymore. If he had a small contract heda been the best roleplayer in the league.

if they dont get LBJ, they'll reel in shooter

edit: hinrich is a streaky shooter, will def miss his defense for sure

the Bulls could go after Korver. There are many no-name shooters in the NBA who can light it up but wont be brought up in a conversation.

Rose

Boozer

At worst case scenario

which isnt that bad IMO

Good move imo. Boozer when healthy is a very good PF in the league. 5 years 75 million is not bad at all considering how much players are getting this offseason. I really thought he was gonna get the MAX. I'm so pumped to see the pick and roll with him and Rose. I'm sure Boozer will give him some pointers considering he played with an elite PG in Williams.

Also, think about this Bulls fans. We finally have another player that can draw a double team when Boozer is in the post. We haven't had that since who, Brand?

If the Bulls don't get Lebron, I'm ok with it as long as they sign Mike Miller and Kyle Korver. I also hope they resign Brad Miller. He's a pretty good backup C.

Edit:
Rose
M. Miller
Deng
Boozer
Noah

Bench:
Korver
James Johnson
Taj Gibson
Brad Miller
Omer Asik??
Sign a PG

not too bad

agreed with everythin you said... although i rather have JJ REDDICK and MIKE MILLER or JJ REDDICK and Kyle Korver... i think jj is young enuff to invest in and hes ready to play right now. and with boozer getting the double team and rose possibly needing one aswell... jj for 3 all day.

I wouldn't want JJ and Korver on the same team because essentially they're pretty much the same player and have the same strengths. Also, I just don't know if Reddick can play starter minutes. I didn't watch much Magic games this season so my opinion is probably way off base.

Can't wait for the season man.

Korver's a little bigger, so i think if you could get both you do it. KK at the 3 and JJ at the 2. Redick really came into his own this year, finally stopped playing scared and gunshy and just started bombing the rock. With D Rose's ability to penetrate and these two bros on the outside, it would be like a sniper clinic in Chi-Town.

and Parlor_Mob.. just like stated above jj reddick really came into his own. He wasnt afraid, when everybody was begging vince carter to show up jj then showed up and 3 double digit point games in the playoffs and he was making shots like he was back at duke... stop and pop 3 balls. hes growing up and i think he would be amazing here... as would KK.... lets just go get adam morrisons contract and give him a chance.. adam morrison and jj reddick on the same team. im an adam morrison fan so HATE ON HATERS lol.... I'm reading up on RealGM bulls board and some of the posters really want Anthony Morrow. I don't know anything about him but his stats are pretty impressive for someone who didn't play alot of minutes.

actually think this is a good move for the bulls. boozer will compliment noah perfectly cause noah's game is more garbage points and defense where in boozer it's more offensive and he and rose could work real good together. carlos has another good point guard to work with and he's not a great defender but that's where noah comes in. main concern is probaly health and just hope he's there for the playoffs.

No, if you watch a few games of morrows he actually looks like a kid that has a great game.... he uses his long arms and plays good d... and he has a good stroke and there is so much more of him that can develop... he really is a good player... think of a rajon rondo type with a sick jumper.

i'm reminded of a bigger ben gordon actually. at 6'5" he could defend the 2 as well, something gordon and hinrich could never do consistently. Kid can definitely stroke the rock though. I'm all for it if the price is right. Only 24 too!

He's a RFA. I know GSW is going through some financial issues so I wonder if Bulls can front load the contract making it difficult for them to match.

Nice vid of him, I can't believe that was his first game as a starter and he put up that many points. He looks like a catch and shoot guy when he hits those 3's, kinda like Ray Allan.

How did Adam Morrison end up in that group?

And to everyone else, Anthony Morrow is arguably the best shooter in basketball, but he can't defend 2s, 1s, or anyone else for that matter.

I'm going to be pissed if Lebron goes to Miami. With a good shooting SG, the Bulls will have a real good team - good enough to compete for the East championship. But if Lebron goes to Miami - then it could be game/set/match for the next 5-6 years! Here's hoping Lebron goes ANYWHERE other than Miami! Not sure why he doesn't seem to be considering the Bulls - it would be seen as his team, and the Bulls would be in a position to win multiple championships. Seems like a better all around deal for him.

Anyways, one thing that hasn't been talked about - any potential shooting guards that could be available via trade? Might be able to take a big contract from some team looking to get rid of payroll. Not a huge fan of Hamilton in Detroit - but that kind of a deal might work better than signing one of these free agents (I like Korver myself).

Just to clarify - I wasn't asking for Hamilton specifically. But he has a fairly large contract, is a shooting guard, and his team is open to trading him. Surely there are other players out there that fit that description?

EDIT: Michael Redd? Would love to see him bombing threes in the United Center (if healthy). Or maybe someone like Danny Granger - wasn't Indiana trying to move him on draft night?

Or do we just say screw this year - and hold onto the cap space to try to get Carmelo after this next year?

I can't really figure out why we want to take on a big contract like that just yet. If anything, you wait til' trade deadline time to swing a deal for Redd. Personally, i'd love to sign Kyle Korver or J.J. Redick. More so, Kyle Korver because he is big, defends, can shoot the rock, and can put it on the floor when the situation calls for it. Depends what his price is though, i'm not exactly sure what he's commanding.

Melo is re-signing with the Nuggets. End of Story.

Only reason to take on one of those contracts is if James does sign with Miami. I don't think Korver or Redick is good enough to do battle with those three. I'd much rather take my chances with a guy like Redd, who I think is a step above those other two. If James goes anywhere besides Miami, then the Korver/Redick route is probably the way to go.

Mike Miller would not be bad to pick up from Washington.

I guess Reddick would be ok for our bench...he has turned into a solid defender correct?

Portland has a couple of good SG's. Martell Webster and Nicolas Batum but from what I understand Batum is untouchable. Plus he can't hit the 3 yet and I think plays SF a lot.

Mike Miller already has a substatial offer from Miami. Don't know where they are getting this money from exactly, but it seems like the Haitian drug cartel is now financially supporting the Miami Heat.

Reddick can defend, but he's too small to handle a D Wade or Joe Johnson defensively. The guy is probably 6'3" at best. Kyle Korver is the guy. A 6'7" athletic shooter who can defend.
