whoa

This.

They are what? 1 game back? with the other two teams competing who might also pull big moves..

Good move, if they are gonna keep Lee.

(Should've just kept Santana all those years ago, lol)

Santana didnt want to stay, plus the twins couldnt offer him as much as NY did

Lee Pavano and Liriano in the playoffs would be awesome

Thank god the mets didnt get him. The deal obviously involves Wilson Ramos so if your fantasy team needs a catcher id go get him lol.

suss2hyphens*: "Detroit radio station" reporting Cliff Lee to Twins. If it's 97.1, they also reported 95 percent of men pick their noses

Except for the Mariners when they lose him after this year with nothing back to show for it.

Curious to see results, if true.

This will put Twins right behind the Yankees, and Rays overall IMHO, there pitching is horrible.

Agreed. CC - Lee - Hughes - Pettitte - Burnett would be rapesauce.

Im hearing the Rays may send BJ Upton and Jeremy Hellickson to the Mariners. That trade would probably trump anyone elses.

Serious? That would be crazy if they trade Hellickson. fuuuuuuuuuuuuu, but I want Lee....

ya Gammons reported it this morning. Hellickson would obviously make it happen. Maybe they make it Upton, Davis, and one of your lower a ball top prospects.

Pretty much is a double instant upgrade with Jennings and Lee lol

Truth. The Rays probably wouldn't do the deal UNLESS they took Upton.

I guess Lee would take W. Davis's spot. I would hate to see him have to go back down, fuk, at this point I would rather see Shields moved out of the rotation.

this trade would be entirely out of character for the twins; giving up future stars for what would amount to a short term rental!
it would be a foolish move and the twins front office has always shown themselves to be shrewd... and competent.

Ramos and Hicks for Lee is on the table bro. But Kyle Gibson is not.

The Twins would do this because Ramos is locked behind Mauer obviously for a long time and they have a lot of new money from the new stadium being filled. They need a starting pitcher like Lee bad I just hope they don't get him. Sox have to vs the Twins like 14 more times this year.

On another note....

Why did Seattle trade for Braynan last week if they are giving up on the season?

I agree. After Pavano and Liriano they really cant compete with the elite in the AL. Adding Lee to the previous names would be a pretty soild 3 going into a playoff series.

because if they dont generate some offense nobody is going to watch them play!
that could change if bradley and figgins would start to hit...

"The Mariners are seeking a “mammoth return” for Lee, according to Jon Paul Morosi and Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. One executive interested in the left-hander said the Mariners made a “crazy ask,” demanding an even better package than Wilson Ramos and Aaron Hicks."

They are just doing business.

Ask for the moon, drag it out till July 31st and then go with the best package.

Nothing wrong with that.

this

However anyone can pull their deal and take Oswalt, who isnt a rental. This is what happened last year with Lee and Halladay.
