just curious if an enlarged aortic root, and a leaky valve would make me a candidate
for someone not to use ephedrine if taken responsibly.

I wouldn't take any advice about this from anyone on an internet forum.
Consult a doctor.

I would but ephedra is banned so I dont think a doctor would even really talk to me about it
unless i had asthma.

Don't do it unless you don't value your life. Any sort of heart problems and ephedra or ephedrine is a no no. Any respectable doctor will tell you the same thing.

Look at other safer solutions, such as improving your diet, running a calorie deficit or just plain running.

if you have any heart problems i wouldnt even risk it. just get your diet in check, if your lean already and trying to get leaner i would check out lyle mcdonalds ultimate diet 2.0, or www.leangains.com to get rid of the stubborn fat, they seem to have good results with losing the last bit of fat.
