View Full Version : Why don't the Nets trade Derrick Favors for Bosh?

Why hasn't this happened/at least been reported? The Raptors want talent in return in a sign and trade and the Nets are sitting here with a freak athlete that went #3 overall and would fit right in as a PF/C replacement for Bosh. If the Nets can do this their chances of landing Lebron go way up but I haven't even heard this be rumored. Anyone know why?

For what reason would the Nets do this? They have plenty of cap room to sign Bosh straight up. There's no reason for them to do a sign and trade. Toronto has no control over Bosh.

Bosh is a free agent. He isn't Toronto's to trade unless he says so.

and if he's the only all-star to go to a team where there is no other talent, he would rather lose 30 million than waste 6 years.
common sense.

He would LIKE to get a s&t to the team he wants to go too, but if Toronto can't do it, he'd still sign there as a FA.

if he went to the nets and joined devin harris and lopez that would be a playoff team (if all 3 stayed healthy). if they could get lebron on top of that you have a top 3 team in the east.

decent playoff team without Lebron.

If lebron goes to..err NY, Wade in Mia, Amare in Chi, etc.

Pretty much, if every FA splits up..he'd rather pair up with any one of them and become a champ. type team than on his own be a barely decent playoff team.

Sounds reasonable for both to me. The Raptors are going to have to try to get something out of him.

All the teams in the market for Bosh have cap room. He's still not gonna let that 30 mil pass him by. A sign and trade will happen, the only question is where.

This would be a great trade for both teams. Even if Jersey doesn't get Wade or LeBron, they'd have arguably the best frontcourt in the league, a great point guard, and the ownership to get them that star wing that will make them a championship contender. If they do get Wade or LeBron as well, hello dynasty.
