Noone deserves to be in the All Star game more than this kid. Has just as good numbers as Pujols and is one of the best young players in the game today.

Dont let some bullcrap popularity contest keep the guy at home when he should be starting 1st base for the NL. Do him justice, I know the sports misc has a heart.

much appreciated guys, its not his fault the Reds are a small market team. We only have a fraction of the voters places like NY have.

Paul Konerko got screwed just as much. lol @ ortiz getting the backup DH spot over him.

brb competing for league leader in HRs and barely getting consideration for the AS game because of yankees and baastin homers.

Voted. Votto should definitely be there.

I missed the beginning of today's game. Why did Votto get tossed? Great game for the Red Legs otherwise.

agreed, he absolutely destroyed him. He made some good points though. 1. Votto hits 2/3 oh his HRs in hitter friendly cincinatti. Its been especially obvious this year. 2. If you want to be in the all star game as first baseman, you better put up some serious numbers. 1B is reserved for sluggers these days. Votto is going to be competing with guys like pujols, howard, fielder and gonzalez every year.

Almost identical numbers are Pujols. I did my part and voted as the last player in. Cincinnati fans deserve a good team finally. Wouldn't it be crazy if Reds and Bengals would both make the playoffs in same year?

He has similar if not better numbers then all of those guys this year. Hitter friendly park or not, if he performs and puts up the numbers he deserves to be there.

I voted as well. It's a crying shame if he doesn't make it. The guy deserves to be there and even as a Philly fan I don't see how you can vote Howard over Votto.

He has much better numbers than all of them except Pujols who he is even or better than this year as well. His away numbers are pretty solid and still better than Howard, fielder and gonzalez.

He is the 2nd best 1st baseman in the NL behind Pujols b/c he has not been dethroned quite yet. What more do you want from the guy? He hit his 20th HR today(in NY btw), plus he was injured for a short stint this season.

I want you to PLEASE look at these stats and tell me he does not deserve to be there, if you disagree you are either out of your mind insane, high, or just hate Cincinnati. He is one of the best hitters on the game of baseball right now. These stats arent even updated, he just tied Pujols for the NL HR lead @20 HRs and has a higher SLG and BA.

2-3 with two more home runs against the Mets tonight at Citi Field.

Tyler44
07-05-2010, 07:36 PM
And now the NL Homerun leader at 21.

2-3 tonight with 2 RBI and 3 runs so far tonight.

Yep, definitely not All Star material.

I cant argue against Pujols being the better player at all, but Votto is playing as good as he is this season. Bright future!

Leading NL in homers and not on all-star team. That game is played for the lulz

How does Jose Bautista make it with a .236 avg in the AL, while Votto has the same number of HRs with a .318 avg in the NL and it has to go down to the wire to see if he even makes the game? The Reds are winning too..

this.

it makes no sense whatsoever.

isnt there a rule that every team must be represented though and thats why adrian gonzalez is there instead? i mean votto is better than gonzalez in every triple crowd category

Makes no sense and Mike and Mike are right. Statistically he would b the biggest snub of all time if he doesnt make it. But he is leadng the NL vote, which is good.

votto plays 1st base which is stacked in the nl. kinda dumb to have FOUR first basemen on the team.
