And the Red Sox and Yankees are TIED in wins
And the Red Sox are averaging more RPG than the Yankees
And the Red Sox have played the hardest schedule in baseball

And the Red Sox have seen significant playing time from:
Darnell McDonald
Daniel Nava
Bill Hall
Jonathan Van Every
Jeremey Hermida

Can everyone who came into the season talking about how the Red Sox were a 3rd/4th place team, will win 80 games, should've signed Jason Bay, etc please stand up and defend yourself. Thanks,

lol at the tough schedule... look who the sox played in june

http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/schedule/index.jsp?c_id=bos&m=6&y=2010

6 out of the 8 teams they played were under .500

but anyways... the red sox have suffered similar, if not worse injuries than the mets lat year and have managed to pull through it. im impressed by the quality of their depth but as a baseball fan being as rational as possible you cannot expect such to continue.

You are getting a little bit too excited. We are only half way through the season here.
The Yankees are a proven second half team, and the red sox are not. The Yankees always play their best baseball after the all-star break and down the stretch. Their team is loaded with players who underachieve in the first half of the season, and go on rediculous hot streaks later on. Its well documented facts, and you cant argue with it.

Also, the Red Sox have not played the hardest schedule. Thats a lie.

Keep in mind, the Yankees have gotten very little production from their #3 and #4 hitters in the lineup and they are still the best team in baseball. The Red Sox are going to need to rely on Ortiz and Beltre to continue putting up those same numbers for the rest of the year. Good luck with that.

At this time last year, the red sox were the best team in baseball and everyone was crowning them as champs. What were they, 5 games up at this time? They had a solid 3 game lead at the all-star break over the Yankees and finished 8 games back. Thats a difference of 11 games in less than half a season. Not good.

The Yankees havent even come close to clicking yet as a team and they will run away with this division in the second half. U mad? You should be.

why do red sox have to constantly compare themselves to their older, better looking brother? you will always be your parents second favorite, and you will always be jerking off and crying to pictures of your big bro's girlfriends.

the red sox will never be better than the yankees...

So because we've played 8 easy games this week, we are ignoring the schedule o the other 73 games?

Strong logic.

We've played 53 of our 80 games vs teams above .500. Thats 2/3rds of our schedule have been agaist teams >.500. That's the most games of anyone in the AL, and 3 more than the Twins, who have played the 2nd toughest schedule.

The fact remains, no team in baseball has more wins than us, we have one of the best offenses in the league, an everyone thought we were a 3rd place team.

As far as the season only being half over....after the ASB we are acquiring Josh Beckett and Jacoby Ellsbury
