maybe if this was the 90s...

lets face it, the cowboys have been full of fail the last decade.

Jerry Jones hasn't done anything since he lost Jimmy Johnson(inb4 Barry Switzer). He still keeps a yesman as head coach instead of actually hiring a good one.

Jerry Jones has done a fantastic job of rebuilding the cowboys after the triplets retired. He was in Salary Cap jail for the first few years of the last decade and basically had to rebuild from scratch. Plus, he was able to pull off the steal of the decade in grabbing Dez Bryant.

he also can no longer put together a team that can actually win when it counts..

You must be kidding yourself if you think this cowboy's team cant win. Baby steps. We finally got the playoff monkey off our backs and we got better this off-season. We are stacked and this is our year.

Romo doesn't get enough credit for being one of the top QB's and get's too much hate. He isn't a playoff choke. He played a good game against the seahawks a few years back and his QB skills did not cost them that game. If a wide open Patrick Crayton had caught that perfectly thrown Romo pass the next year, we would be talking a different story and this past year his offensive line forgot to show up against Minnesota.

alot of haters ITT I guess teams no longer have rebuilding years even though they make the playoffs.

how is having 13 pro bowlers in one season a rebuilding year (2008)? theyve had talent for a while now. year in and year out people have said "this is the year", yet they always manage to sh*t the bed. im not trying to sound like a d*ck (already probably have), im just saying theyve under achieved

he was the best owner while he had jimmy johnson. He also should have done whatever necessary to keep Bill Parcells on as coach and adviser. Parcells didn't want T.O., but Jones did. Parcells is legend.

What is YOUR definition of best owner in NFL? Oh how quickly people forget how much he gave up for Roy E. Williams (1st, 3rd, and 6th round draft picks) and how much did he pay him - 6 year, $54 mill w/ $26 mill gauranteed. How much has he produced? 2 years with the Cowboys (or 20 games) 57 receptions, 794 yards receiving and 8 TDs. Doesn't sound like a great trade to me - actually, they got raped!!!!

Everyone team in the NFL had a good offseason this year. Jerry didn't do anything special, except let Flozell Adams go and is going to trust second year 4th round tackle Doug Free to hold down the fort.

How about the last few drafts? 2009 was a waste of a draft for the Cowboys. 2008 was a good draft. 2007 was a below average draft class. And the years before that, the team was built under Bill Parcells.

For a hands on owner, Jerry is one of the better ones. But in the grand scheme of the entire NFL, he is far from the best owner.

Regardless of how they play this year.. Theres going to be a Lombardi trophy handed out in Dallas.

LOL. Steal of the decade? Wait till the dude plays an NFL game.
1 playoff win in 13 seasons makes you the best owner? Putting together underachieving teams and overpaying mediocre players makes you the best owner? Having 13 probowlers and missing the playoffs the following year makes you the best owner?
LOL

2nd round of the playoff is mediocre(average)?

2nd round of the playoff is mediocre(average)?

you beat the eagles in the playoffs then got absolutely destoyed. wade phillips is the coach and tony romo is the qb. if by being the best owner means putting together a good team with no chance of winning or being dominant than yes jones is a good owner

this is just a yearly cowboy fan hype thread of them depicting something from the previous season that almost guarantees a super bowl

jerry jones is a good owner but is a little to emotionally envolved, like a younger less crazy al davis. i hate the steelers but the rooneys are the best owners in the NFL, robert kraft(who i cant stand) is also good

If Jerry Jones stayed out of management's way all these years instead of trying to act like he knew more football than they did, he'd have a hell of a lot more playoff appearances and wins.
