If I were at the game and a Detroit fan I would have hopped on the field and beat the crap out of the ump, not even a Tiger fan and that pissed me off so much.

Indians SS ground ball with only 1 out left for perfect game.

Miguel threw it to Galarraga at 1st but Ump called him safe when he was clearly out.

He better be sending SC and the Tigers Stadium a message to let them know the call is being overturned.

I mean teams have protested games before so I think there's a rule that says MLB has the right, but I dont ever remember one being overturned.

I think this would be an ok time to do it though. It doesn't hurt anything and Galarraga clearly pitched a perfect game.

They're not even overturning the game they're overturning 1 call that has no effect on the winner. I dont see why they cant overturn that call.

Can the MLB overturn that? I'm unaware. Even if they do...to rob him of that moment is absolutely horrible.

nothing has ever come from a protest or complaint after the fact. the league doesn't have a time machine, they can't go back to a game that is already over and change it. protesting to the league is just another word for crying. right or wrong the league doesn't care

i didnt even see it but judging by everyones reaction here and even the announcers on all of the games that are on right now, it was a horrendous call.

i really wanna see a replay

I think they can overturn this because it was the last out of the game. They ****ing better, but still they rob him of his moment.

This can be overturned

like i said in another thread, that is a completely different situation and not applicable to this situation. the league overturned the call on the pine tar incident because the ump got the rule wrong. the rule was that the bat is removed from the game, it didn't say that the player was out or the previously play doesn't count. they didn't overturn the call, the corrected a misinterpretation of the rule...completely different then overturning a judgement call.

Another sad thing about all of this is that Jackson's catch to start the inning will never be remembered. that was such a great game-saving catch. reminiscent of dewayne wise's catch during buerhle's perfect game (although it wasn't quite as good). of course it all goes to waste because of an f'ed up call. im pissed off beyond belief and feel so bad for galarraga

x2. It would've been easily one of the greatest plays of all-time. Oh well, i don't think anything can be done about it now. Jim Joyce probably feels the worst out of anyone. I really feel for Galarraga. Perfect performance.

sorry if this was brought up already but this call is eerily similar to the infamous blown call in the 1985 world series that arguably cost the cardinals the series

Good on the way Gal. handled it.

I wouldn't of handled it the way he did..you know deep down he wanted to unleash some vulgar words, but couldn't. Selig can't overturn the call and give him the perfect game.
