View Full Version : Count macros instead of calories ?

ive been tracking my food the last few weeks. seems like no matter what i do im always around a 30 protein 30 fats 40 carbs ratio

good day is 300g - 150g - 400g (trying to bulk @ 192lbs now)

seems like it would be allot easyer for me to just count my protein intake, if im getting say 250-300g a day, i can assume that im still getting the same ratio (i usualy eat the same foods)

is there any problem with doing it this way ? if i concentrate on getting to my 300g protein / day goal.

i guess another question is if im getting 300g pro, 150fat, 400 carb, what would be the difference if i cut it to 300g pro 150fat 300 carb ?

if you cut down carbs from 400 to 350, you'd lose 200 calories, just count cals, and then worry about macros, to bulk you need an excess of calories,

calories in>calories out

I make sure I get enough protein for my weight and then I decide how much fats and carbs I am going to eat on a cut or bulk. Right now I am on a cut and I watch fat and protein mostly. As for carbs I carry around extra bananas in case I didn't get enough calories and then I know I need more carbs. I feel that trying to count everything is difficult. I have set meals for cutting so I know how much each meal is so I don't go over.
