Gday crew.

Quick question. How do i know if i have a fast or slow metabolism?

Does having a fast metabolism mean my body processes food quickly?

And am i correct in believing that having a faster metabolism is better?

Thanks in advance crew

Fast metabolism burns more calories at rest, therefore it is harder to gain weight.

A fast metabolism is good as you can stay leaner easier, but bad as you can have a hard time gaining muscle.

If you need to eat a lot to gain, you have a fast metabolism.

its up to debate as ive heard a couple things

some say your bodies are most efficient with a fast metabolism because your body burns extra fat quickly

then theres the opposite where they say your body is most
efficient with a slow metabolism because you hold extra fat easier

(making your chances of survival higher because you can fend off frequent bouts of starvation)

the more active you are the faster your metabolism..

Right, well by this I would say I have a slow metabolism... I am very active so I suppose If i wasn't so active I would have the potential to become a real fat arse!

Thanks for clearing that up guys!

sometimes it sucks that I have a slow metabolism but I think the good outweighs the bad

I dont suffer from terrible mood swings.
I gain muscle and strength fairly quickly and easily.
But if I look at a cheeseburger the wrong way, Ill gain weight.

I know a ton of people with fast metabolisms who are naturally cut.
They have to take a ton of protein or they lose muscle.
They have a hard time gaining muscle.
And if they dont eat, they get grumpy or "obsessive"
But they can eat a lot of cheeseburgers while maintaining their bodyfat.

Its all relative.

That certainly sounds like me to a tee! I've only now started taking protein and Creatine so i'll be curious to see the differences.

Have you found your metabolism change much taking supplements? What do you take and when do you take.

Thanks for this, good help for a beginner!

creatine helps but isnt needed

I always suggest protein (to reduce your dependency for carbs)
and a solid fatburner (to take early in the day to stoke the fire)

If you check my sig,
I have a list of the products I take
and a link to a daily food log
