View Full Version : cinnamons in steamed veggies...

I like steaming my vegetables, such as broccoli, cauliflowers, green beans, kabocha pumpkins, etc and prefer the taste plain than adding any additives for flavoring, but I decided to sprinkle some cinnamon into the water while it was boiling/steaming the veggies and noticed a nice subtle cinnamony taste. Anyone else done this before? nice change of pace...

in before cool story bro / 'why not just add cinnamon onto the steamed veggies'

I usually never add anything to my veggies. I'm sort of a purist, but this sounds fantastic. When I feel like splurging my calories, I'll add butter or olive oil, but I never really thought to add spices before. Not sure why...

first of all this isn't the misc so need for those remarks.

secondly, I will definitely try putting some cinnamon next time I am cooking some veggies

Started doing it a month ago. Now it's hard not to eat them with some cinnamon.
