View Full Version : Counting carbs/fats/protein in a recipe

I have a problem when it comes to counting calories/carbs/fat/protein when I cook something up and then split it. For example, tonight I cooked up a couscous salad. Here are the ingredients:

1 1/2 cup Couscous
1 cup green onions
1 cup tomatoes
1 cup of sliced chicken breasts
1/2 cup parsley
1 1/2 tbsp virgin olive oil
2 cups of low sodium fat free chicken broth

As you can see I cooked up a couscous chicken salad here...it was supposed to be 4 servings according to the recipe, but I decided to add more couscous to get more carbs.
If I were to split this into 4 portions, it doesn't add up to the recipe I pulled online.

It said I would be getting about 340 calories, 33g carbs, 10g fat, and 20g protein.

How do you split your portions after you cooked something up and know how many carbs/fats/protein, and total calories you are getting?
