This may sound odd but it does awesome things for your skin. As a part of my diet I have at least 2tblsp per day of extra virgin olive oil. I was reading some information about the history of Olive Oil and learned that people use it for hair, skin and even removing gall stones(which i have seen done). I figured why not try it out. So every 1-2 weeks i will take some olive oil into the sauna and pretty much rub it all over. I let it soak in for as long as i can stand to be in the sauna and then i do a cold shower and go back in the sauna and so forth until im not all oily anymore. I was just wondering if anyone else does this mainly and if anyone has any other uses that they us olive oil for?

Olive Oil has many fantastic qualities: it is great for skin tone, Helps to bring elasticity back to your skin from aging
add a tbl to your whey shake at night slows digestion. Use it to help tan outdoors,Just dont use it to Tan indoors.

I would be very thrown off if I saw a glistening man walking around the locker room.

^^This. Or in the dang sauna...I see some guy lubing himself up in the sauna and I'm out of there. I'm sure it's great for the skin and yadda yadda...but I dunno...

Thats funny because,

In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

lol no different from putting on moisturizer in the locker room, but agreed I would rub it in whikle in the locker room or the private showers we have at ours not while sitting in the sauna nor do you need that much to have the effect, just a light rub down

tanning outside using Olive is great as it intensifies the effect.

Exactly...that isnt a good thing LOL...it INTENSIFIES the UV rays on your skin. See where I am going with this?

tanning outside using Olive is great as it intensifies the effect. Indoors it will burn you under the bulbs.

As for Gall Stones and other health benefits, you just have to go read up on some of the herbal and natural medicine sites and have an open mind. It does work, not always as nothing works 100% of the time, but thier is a lort of posted findings on the many benefits to health of olives and olive oil.

sorry the last got doubled. Yes I see where your going and again I live in the Desert and have been tanning with Olive oil since I was 15 yrs old and I dont have any sun spots, melanoma or any of that stuff. During the summer I get black dude, my cousins on the coast lay out on the beach with tanning enhancers ( olive oil and beta carotine from carrots) all day with no bad side effects. My sister used to Tan with pro tanning lotions and today has damaged skin lol see where I'm going. its an individual thing. Today I have the skin tone of a 16 yr old without wrinkles or scars and I have spent my life in an extreme Hot Desert most of it without sun screen or UV protection or a shirt.
