Start off the season playing out of the country in Sweden
Lose 9 players to injuries, many of them key players and many of them long term, including Zetterberg, Franzen, Lilja
Rafalski and Lidstrom are approaching 40
Starting a rookie goalie
7 players (more than 1/3 of the team) play in the Olympics and don't get a break, all players make the medal round, some make the finals
Just got back from a trip to western Canada scoring 5/6 possible points
Likely still making the playoffs after all of that

The 09/10 Canadiens?

Lot more injuries to key players, currently 6th place

prove to me that they have lost a lot more than 9 players

Markov (best d-men in the east) for 3 1/2 months
Cammaleri (7th highest goal scorer before injury) for 2 months
Gionta (would have scored 35) for 2 months
Bergeron (top 10 highest goal scoring d-men before injury) for 2 months
Spacek (3rd d-men) 3 weeks
Pouliot (25 goal scorer) 2 weeks
Kostitsyn (25-30 goal scorer) 2 months
Gill (starting d-men) 3 weeks
Mara (starting d-men) 2 months
Kyle Chipchure (was starting before trade) 2 weeks

edit: A lot of those as you see are star players in this league

Markov > Kronwall
Cammaleri > Franzen

The red wings did face a lot of adversity, I follow them a lot and I think that they have a chance at the cup if they stay healthy. I'm a huge Jimmy Howard fan.

they will probs have a rough ride in the first round of the playoffs, but they seem to be peaking at the right time. i think some of the injuries have allowed them to have fresher legs later in the season. i feel bad for osgood though, 3 stanley cups 2 as the primary goaltender and he's on the bench

It's like that for a lot of goalies past their prime. Osgood has been blessed witrh great teams.

Samuelsson has 31 goals this year..

Demitra is a 60 point player

Edler is one of our best defensemen

Salo has been our 2nd best defenseman this year and is so key on the PP

Sry I didn't see samuelson's name

Demitra isn't what he ised to be and he's an injury case every year

Others are average imo, I like Bieksa and Mitchel better than those 2

A few of the people who played in the Olympics were injured, so they had that break off before.

Not to mention Markov is the Habs best player or at least they play really well when he is on the ice.

By the way lol at saying Pouliot is a 25 goal scorer his career high is 14 goals.

Im sure the whole league benefited from the Olympic break. At least the players that were not in the games got to rest.

Pouliot is scoring at a pace of 30 this year, let's not forget he started to play after christmas and he has 16 goals so far

And yet they're only 2 points into the playoffs. Ill call them resilient when they actually clinch a playoff spot. Even then, there are worse off teams in better positions.
