and see one player who you never saw play live or have only seen on NFL classics, who would it be?

Im going to go with Gale Sayers. a lot of people say there was nobody who played the game like he did and he only was in the league for a short time.

Jim Brown. I could see a winning Browns team then, too :)

OJ Simpson in 1973. No doubt about it.

Great choice.

Mine would be Sammy Baugh.

Best QB in the league, pretty much invented the passing game WHILE setting records for INTs on defense AND leading the league in punting. Best all-around player ever.

He's the reason NFL teams play defense (and even offense) the way they do today. I can do nothing but stare in awe watching old games of LT playing (especially since I played the same position) and to see him live would have been nothing short of epic.

Assuming we are speaking about football:

Barry Sanders
Johnny Unitas
Walter Payton

If other sports are involved [like basketball], I would love to see Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Pete Maravich, Julius Erving, etc. - far too many to name.

Plenty of baseball players as well - Ruth, Mantle, Robinson, etc.
