I'm trying to cut to a low body fat, then I plain on starting back up from there.

I'm 150 pounds (155 now, apparently) and I'm 5'6. I started my diet on Monday and I do weights 3 times a week. I've been 150 lbs for the past 2 years, but when I started my diet on monday, I started counting all my calories and eating only 1400-1500 / day. I've been doing that and i've been consistent. But now when I weighed myself on the scale it says that I've actually gained 5 pounds instead of losing anything. Although, my jeans feel a bit looser.

whats the deal?

youre 16.. you're probably building muscle, losing fat, and growing at the same time. most people on this site are older than you and no longer have their growth spurt helping them get in shape so they need to diet and exercise vigorously and focus on either gaining muscle or losing fat because they it's hard for them to do both at the same time. not your case probably.

take advantage of your age while you can... eat a little more (maybe 1800-2000 calories), work out harder, and you won't gain the fat you're worried about seeing.

Don't just rely on scales. The mirror and tape measure are your firends.

I would never consider doing a a full on cut at your age. You can hinder so much growth at this time in your life that you cant make up later, such as height. Just eat a healthy well balanced diet.

You're probably just gaining muscle from all the workouts you have been doing. If you look better in the mirror, then I wouldn't worry about it.

at 16 you should not be so worried about getting to a low body fat %.....especially with all of the growing you are doing.....if I were you I would eat more and keep training hard.....focus on putting as much mass on as you can while your growing in your teenage years.

As active as you are. Your cutting fat and gaining muscle. I would suggest taking a before and after photo. That will really tell you whats going on imo.

Thanks for all the advice, guys! eatin 1500cals a day doesn't seem like much of a deficit or anything, so imma keep at that. i'll post a before and after picture like asianjkim said in a week or so
