Best 1-2 starting pitching and offensive punch in all of baseball.

With a little late inning bullpen support and another back end of the rotation innings eater, you're looking at a team that I predict will take second in the World Series this year. A few young guys step up and they could very possibly win it.

The cubs, can't forget about them they will be tough this year afterall they did sign Marlon

Best 1-2 punch in baseball = Tex and A-Rod. But Pujols is the best punch around.

I have no idea how the Cardinals are gonna have money to sign any other free agents, and I cant even imagine how much Pujols is gonna cost to retain. So firgure in 2 years, your gonna have Holliday and Pujols making up at least 40-50 Million of their entire payroll

The problem isn't with the two...it's the other 6 guys in the order that give cause for concern.

Carp and Wain may be beast...but if one of them faulters in a short series....it could be big big trouble (again) for StL

I have a feeling Colby Rasmus is going to have a breakout year. He's going to be a superstar. Don't forget Ryan Ludwick who played well last season, but not up to his potential.

As for the rotation, we added Brad Penny who has been great when pitching in the NL. Dave Duncan is a genius pitching coach, so I'm sure he'll get Penny to pitch his best. Lohse is a serviceable #4 pitcher, but we do need another SP or a solid RP.

Freese, Braves signed thurston. Freese tore it up at every level in the minors, its his spot to lose right now. Wouldn't mind seeing them sign some utility IF help as a backup plan

o i didnt know braves signed thurston, hopefully freese can come through big, a solid utility man would be cool, Imo freese isnt bad, just a bit inexperienced to be the starting third baseman. lol at seeing him play catcher the last reg season game last year.

i feel like itll be a good year, and also im really excited to see Mcgwire as hitting coach. I think he'll do great, he's been helping holliday for a few years, so hes been doin something right! i just hope the media can get over the steroid **** and just show some support, and im sure freese is taking alota heat for his d-dub, i hope these these issues dont put the cards off too much
