On the bag of shredded cheese it says 1 serving is about 1/4 cup or 28g and it is 110 cals. A block of cheese i have says 1 serving is 28g and 110 cals so it looks as if 1/4 cup of this block shredded is the same as the pre-shredded cheese. Except the block sayss 1 serving is about 1oz .... isnt 1/4 cup 2oz? Sry if it is a dumb question its just been bugging me cuz i was thinking it was incorrect and i dont want to be eating twice as much as i thought i was :D Reps for help .

28g = 28g no matter how you phrase it...

So if they both say 28g and the shredded says 1/4 cup then 1/4 cup of the block shredded will be the same?

A cup is a measure of volume, a gram is a measure of mass. The weight of a cup depends on what's in it. I'll imagine 1/4 a cup of sredded cheese to be around 28g.... if you are really that concerned get a food scale and weight it. Other than that I wouldn't sweat it.
