I'm 16, 140lbs and between 5'11 and 6'0. I was wondering if this diet would be ok?

Meal One:
100g Quaker Oats.
300 ml of Semi Skimed Milk.
Total Carbs: 74g
Total Calories: 506
Total Protein: 21.8g
Total Fat: 13.4g
Of which is saturated: 4.8g

Meal Two
2 Slices/36g Wholemeal Bread
90g Chicken breast
10g Lurpak butter
25g Cashew Nuts
60g Grapes
Total Carbs: 30.8g
Total Calories: 445
Total Protein: 29.76g
Total Fat: 23.0g
Of which is saturated: 8.57g

Meal Three
90g Chicken Breast
90g Wholemeal Pasta
Total Carbs: 60.3g
Total Calories: 396
Total Protein: 30.42g
Total Fat: 3.78g
Of which is saturated: 1.44g

Meal Four
(1 scoop = 25g) Whey Protein Isolate Powder
300ml Semi Skimmed Milk
25g Cashew Nuts
1 Apple

Total Calories: 458
Total Protein: 39.2
Total Fat: 16.85g
Of which is saturated: 5.5g

Meal Five/Pre Workout
80g Beef mince
85g Brown rice

im no dieticain but id say add more protein to your meals. and use healthy fats for your fat source

I think most diets will continually become critiqued; overall i think it looks good.


Some things I'd consider:
1) I agree with adding more protein. Everyone has the opinion on that topic though.

2) Vegetables

3) Are you using condiments with your food?

4) Have you calculated sodium intake? 1500-2500 is recommended.

5) Are you taking a multi-vitamin? (A good one; not the ones that just go through your body undigested)

Most of the fats are healthy, I think having about 1.5g protein per lbs of BW seems high enough! I will be taking a good multivitamin, will also be taking omega 3 and I will definitely try adding some vegetables. For instance meal five/pre workout I'm only having beef mince & rice, I could easily get a couple of portions of veg in there. I'll definitely look into that one! Thanks for the suggestions so far :
