View Full Version : Sugar Alcohol and Maltodextrin

I was just curious about the GI of Sugar Alcohol and Maltodextrin. I see these as sugar substitues in many of the snacks I am looking at while on my cutting diet. For instance, alot of the sugar free candy contains 16g of sorbitol(i think that is the correct spelling) which is classifed as a sugar alcohol. Should I count these in to my carbs and sugar totals for the day or just my carbs?

My current diet consist of 50P/40C/10F at about 2000 calories and this could really skew my numbers. Thanks for any help.
