Defense:

Right now, here's who I see:

1) Brian Cushing - SLB, 33 solos, 23 assists, 56 total tackles, 1/2 sack, 1 pick, 6 PD, 2 FF, 1 safety

2) Jairus Byrd - FS, 17 solos, 7 assists, 5 picks, 7 PD

3) Aaron Curry - WLB, 32 solos, 4 assists, 2 sacks, 2 PD, 2 FF

Offense:

Wide open.

1) Knowshon leads in rushing yards and YFS
2) Mike Wallace leads in receiving yards and is 2nd in YFS
3) Hakeem Nicks has 4 TDs and is 2nd in receiving yards
4) Percy Harvin leads in return yards and all purpose yards, and has also scored 4 TDs

If I'm going to choose a front-runner, it has to be Percy Harvin. There are quite a few others who look on the verge of potential breakout though.

I can see Jeremy Maclin blowing up for the rest of the year.

He had 142 yards and 2 TD's against TB and had 5 receptions this past week I think

Depending on how bad Westbrook's injury is, LeSean McCoy could see some action to, and if he does well, will come into the mix.

Looking at it so far, I'd have Jairus Byrd higher than Cushing just because he makes the Bills slightly less of a joke.

I would also go with Harvin right now but a lot can happen.
If Sanchez plays like he did the first few games again then he has a good shot at it

He has the second most yards receiving by a rookie in the NFL this year. And is tied for first with 4 TDs.

Not even in the discussion at this point in time, I'm afraid. Packer nuthugger or not.

Not even remotely. Just amused that you could suggest someone who is so far out of the running simply because he plays for Green Bay.

Agree with OP also. Cushing and Harvin are pretty easily the best thus far IMO.

Just looked up his stats, quite solid.

total Tackles-49
Solo Tackles-40
INT-2

No sacks or FF though, but pulling his weight.

Crabtree, if he hadn't sat out. IF doesn't matter though. Your list is pretty spot on. Haven't been completely dumbfounded impressed with any of them though. I'd go with Harvin on offense, cushing on defense, actually.

I'm disappointed by Aaron Maybin and Orakpo.

The reason that I agree here is because the Bills are horrible. The Texans have other defensive play makers that make Cushing's jobs slightly easier, but Byrd is getting business done for f*cking Buffalo.

rams defensive tackles are ****, plus they don't really blitz with the LB's that much.

Which boost him in my book for ROTY.

Byrd is sick but his picks came against Sanchez and Delhomme.
Bills face off against the Texans tomorrow, we'll see which rookie has the better stat line

so you're gonna compare a linebacker and a safety?...sounds fair.

brb...comparing Ed Reed and Brian Urlacher

I like Percy Harvin to have a strong second half to the season. Cushings stats are pretty sick for a rookie defender.

Johnny Knox

I actually like Knox, great at getting open and as fast/if not faster than Hester. He has a chance to blow up but he hasn't made as big of an impact as Harvin has, in my opinion at least.

Byrd at this point. He can't help who he faces. Having all those picks against two weaker QBs just shows that he can take advantage of lesser talent. HOWEVER, a couple of his int's were gift wrapped for him.

Cushing will probably take ROY by years end.
