I just saw on TV where there is this HCG Diet is suppose to help you loose 2-3 pounds I think a day or a week can't remember which. Not important right now. I want to know or see if anyone could tell me more about and and what are the down side or the side effects of this diet or this stuff?

a. ) the HCG injection is useless as far as promoting weight loss. It was brought about back in the 50's I believe and ultimately tagged as ineffective after research, until Kevin Trudeau, that infomercial guy (who's been in hot water for his fraudulent claims on several items he promotes by the way), decided to bring it back into popularity to make a quick buck.

b.) the weight loss that people on this "diet" are reporting, is directly because of the 500 calorie daily intake - NOT because of the injection. That's not their deficit, mind you, that's how much food they're actually eating every day. People on this diet think they lose weight because of the injection but you just can't help but drop weight on 500 calorie intake.

c.) no, the HCG also does nothing for controlling appetite as is claimed.

So, if you really want to go through with it, save yourself some money and skip the injections, just do the strict calorie intake... although it would be pretty dang miserable and the people I know who have done it all look like wrinkled turds at the end because they lost a good amount of muscle along with the fat. The irony is that the women who did it, did it to combat cellulite, and the cellulite's appearance was only *amplified* afterwards! :)

Here's a crapload of studies you can peruse through. Most of these have just the outline/abstract with the results available, some of them have the full text you can view, but they all agree that the HCG injection is ineffective, offers no advantage, and the 500 calorie intake is what makes it work (of course).

I actually used it and lost 40lbs in a month back in my fatty days - What I didn't know was the HCG was dead, because I mixed it with the water coming with the vials, and not BA water :D

It's 100% mental - it's more likely to stay on track with your diet if you have to pin yourself every morning.
