is it essential that you have macros when trying to lose fat?

as long as you are doing a 500 calorie deficit you should lose weight right?

According to my experience, not much,

I've seen good results on (C/P/F) 33/33/33, 40/30/30, 40/40/20, 50/25/25, 45/27/27 and 60/20/20.

But what I felt really worked good for me was the 33/33/33 and 50/25/25... When I say worked real good I mean, I was full of energy day in day out and results were showing at faster rate.

But as you've already mentioned, it's all about how much calories you consume.

i assume you mean carb/protein/fat breakdown? As long as you get enough protein, there are plenty of people on this site who's lost weight on a variety of ratios. So, not very much apparently.

I've noticed that macros can affect how I look in the mirror (bloated, flat, toned, veins popping, etc..) and also how I feel at different points of the day. But, when it actually boils down to numbers and fat loss I didn't find much of a difference.
