Okay so I got set up on a proper diet.....

BMR with 5x a week working out.....is 2500 (to maintain original weight of 130lbs....2 weeks ago). So to gain a lb a week I started to eat 3,000 calories a day (500 excess = 1lb a week gained). In 2 weeks of lifting 5x a week with this diet ive gained 7 and a half - 8 lbs. I hadn't gone to the bathroom before checking my weight but it was middle of the day...I doubt most of it is muscle and there lies the problem. I was told i look wider a little but that a lot of the extra weight is going to my chin. not good news for a skinny guy if i were to continue this diet.

Diet:

Subway 12" roast beef - 650 cals
Whey 64 grams - 226 cals
Wheat Pasta 2 cups - 507 cals
cheese ricotta .25 cup - 110 cals
eggs 3 large - 250
potatoes .5 cup - 179 cals
OJ 1 cup - 113 cals
Beef steak 6.5 oz - 464 cals
yogurt 4.4 oz - 124 cals
cottage cheese 1 cup - 164 cals
whey 65 grams - 226 cals
total of: 3,025 cals a day

this is my usual diet....some days ill have skinless chicken breast instead of subway

tips/opinions would be great.

I think your diet looks fairly decent. You may want to make a few minor changes like switching from ref potatoes to sweet potatoes and cutting some of the less complex carbs..

I think the problem may lie in your training. Tell me a little more about your routine.

Are you trying to bulk?

I believe Trev is asking more along the lines of your actual exercises/sets/reps and intensity.

needs more healthy fats, fruit/veggies
too much whey 2-3 scoops should be enough, get the rest of your protein from whole sources
whole fruit instead of juice
