I like how you're pretty much ruling out the Patriots' chances vs. the Giants this year before the start of the season. I'm not looking for ''revenge'' as such, I just think it would be a fun game, and the drama with it would be cool. And obv as a Pats fan, I'm gonna say that they win...

I think you're mad, because this is a predictions thread, and you're trying to mock peoples' predictions even though they are meant to be bold.

kinda irriates me when people say this. it wasnt eli that sucked without plax. it was the entire offense. alot changed in the way defenses played the giants, and considering the change occurred rather late in the season, the giants had no time to adjust. despite that, they seemed to handle it pretty well. thank god for the run game.

now theyve had an entire offseason to switch their offense around, and utilize the weapons they have much more effeciently. im not trying to say Eli is the best QB...he clearly isnt and a lot of his "ability" rides on his weapons. weither he does good or not, superbowl or no playoffs...$97 million is WAY too much for Eli

but plax was a huge asset to the team. when you take that asset away 10+ games into the season, that shiit is gunna sting a little.

of course. youre not a fan if you dont expect your team win it all every year. except if youre a lions fan.

but i dont expect hakeem nicks to fill that big of a void in his rookie season. i mean if he does, great. but fans would be just silly to think hes going to put up huge numbers his first year. anyone is for that matter.

i do think he can live up to the hype. just not his first season on the field.

I disagree with your first point. There's a big difference between ''expecting'' and ''wanting'', but obviously, you want your team to win.

I just wanted your opinion on Nicks, because I've heard him being touted as the deep threat to match Plax in terms of productivity, and drawing the defense away to open up the run game, etc.

i used "expect" as the same meaning as want in my post, but youre right. there is a difference. lions fans "want" them to win a superbowl. but theres no way in hell they can actually "expect" one.

and yeah i know a lot have people are. i dont see it as much, considering Plax has a good 4 or so inches on Nicks. but Nicks seems like a quick receiver and very well could fill the void left by Plax. he seems more of an anquan boldin-type player. hopefully he stays quiet off-field.
