While bulking I usually do cardio first thing in the morning before school just to make sure I am gaining quality weight. I usually eat a small meal first thing in the morning 45 minutes before doing the cardio....1/2 Cup Oatmeal, 4 Egg Whites, 1/2 Cup Skim Milk, 25g Chicken Breast (~300 calories, 35g carbs, and 34g Protein). My cardio consists of 30-35 minutes of average ~82% max heart rate. If I eat breakfast 30 minutes after this session is over, would 30g of whey immediatley after suffice to hold me over 30 minutes until I eat or do I need carbs in this shake? Also, is what I eat before good enough for the cardio I do and making sure I maintain all muscle?

My breakfast 30 minutes after is about 600 calories and 90g carbs.......90g oatmeal, apple or banana, 8 oz skim milk, 6 Egg whites

yes why would be fine. Its not so much about the numbers (i.e. eat this afret xx amount of minutes) ect. Its moreso within a "window" so eating whey 30 minutes after a workout, or as you leave the gym, is going to make NO difference, as long as you get it in within an hour or so of working out. IMO

So you are saying that I don't need the carbs in the post-cardio shake? The 30g whey immediately after the 35 minute cardio at 82% max heart rate will be good to hold me over 30 minutes before breakfast, correct?
Also, is my pre-cardio meal good enough to make sure I maintain muscle? I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right while bulking.

Yes you pre workout meal is fine and yes drinking the whey post workout should be good enough to hold you off for 30 minutes till your breakfast
