Pedro is good for a sub 4.00 Era whatever he goes...pretty good deal

ehhh...he wanted $7 million at the beginning of the season I thought and nobody wanted to give him that. Now he is going to get $4 million for half a season?

Overpriced, but we will see how well he pitches.

That takes the Phillies out of the Halladay deal. More of a chance that the Sox get him!

I dont think a deal is in place yet.

If Pedro does pitch again in the bigs, I wish him the best of luck (unless he joins the Yankees). My favorite baseball player ever. It was amazing to watch that guy on the mound in his prime.

The 4 mil is prorated, meaning he'll only be paid 2 million

Not bad I guess. We paid Colon $1 million for the year, but anyone in their right mind knew he would be going on the DL and it was anyone's guess how well he would pitch

Their signing Pedro to replace Happ..

Cause Happ is going to Toronto along with other young studs for Halladay. You heard it here first.

nah there's been a lot of talk about the Phillies naming a number of their prospects as untouchables at the moment right now. Not saying you might not be able to work something out, but You may have better luck with the Rangers

The Mets could use him right now. I was surprised when they didn't sign him a few months back.

This is still just a rumor...

The Phillies asked him to throw for them again, and that's it I think.

you were surprise they didn't bring him back ? this point in his career he has nothing left. do phillie fans even want him ? if the mets resigned him he would've been 1 of many mets on the DL right now. the guy's tenure as a met was just 1 good season.

exactly and wouldnt doubt it, the if the Phils land a deal like that and Pedro can be half of what he once was watch out

Phillies dont even need Halladay or Pedro at this point. The Mets and Braves are utter failures and the Marlins are primed for another losing streak

Phillies will have the division wrapped up by mid August.

yea agreed, im talking world series contenders if they can land Roy and pedro is effective at all...then again the bullpen is suspect in the end

the last time Pedro Martinez played in MLB, he was 5-6 with a 5.62 ERA and a 1.5 whip...and people were thinking he'd be a good closer.

If Pedro Martinez is the answer to your pitching problems you're asking the wrong questions.

The Phils would never do that. Happ is arguably a top of the rotation pitcher and he's only 26.

Right now Happ is the best pitcher in our squad..he's not getting traded. Amaro has already said, when asked if Happ would be traded for Halladay, he wants to add major lead pitchers, not swap them. If we did trade for Halladay, he would replace Bastardo in the rotation, who could replace Moyer eventually if he keeps playing poorly.

As a diehard Phillies fan I hope this gets done (signing Pedro).

It's a low risk/high reward situation. No trades, no prospects leaving, just some money. So why not?

I want them to win it all again and the window is open right now.

Yeah, the Phillies will have that joke of a division wrapped up next month, but this move would be made to help get another ring, not a division title.

Division titles are pretty much worthless... well, unless you're a Braves fan, of course.

I would like to see Pedro signed, hed be better than anything we thrown out there as our 5th starter so far. Little downside alot of upside

He would look good in the bullpen aswell

On Roy i dont want to see happ traded, i dont get why people would be willing to give up happ over drabek when happ is proven and hasnt lost a game in 2 years, hes a legitmate rookie of the year candidate and has a lot of potential. Drabek is tearing **** up but he is yet to be majorleague tested... look how well mayberry is doing

Hammels
Halladay
Happ
Blanton
Moyer

That would be pretty solid

So why not?

Because Pedro isn't a good pitcher.........?

Pretty cool I guess... As a Phillies fan I love seeing anything bringing the team to a higher level of talent.
