You don't need a strict diet, necessarily. Eat a diet you are happy with. Just go with the basics. Find your caloric intake, add 500 if you want to bulk, and subtract 500 if you want to cut (of course, these are approximate). Try to keep it 40/40/20, and have that bowl of ice cream every once in a while, just watch how much of it you eat. :)

BMX hang in there you gotta remember your weight can fluxuate day to day. I can tell you from my experience I go from about 198 in the morning to anywhere from 202 to 205 by the end of the day, I eat very clean as I am cutting for my first show, and I have gotten to the point where I only try to weigh myself once a week! I have also gotten to the point that I feel that weight is just a number if I saw my clothes fitting better and better everyday and I stayed at the weight I am at now I would be happy. Hope that helps you out a little bit.

Ronny is right mate

Ignore the weighing scales, your best tools are the mirror and if you feel like taking stats a tape measure.

Your weight will fluctuate all the time and you'll end up worrying about something you can't fully control

yea dude dont worry about body weight.

normally im around 178 but just yesterday i weighed in at 173.5.

as far as diet is concerned, you have to pick foods that are "bodybuilding" foods and make them taste good!

for example: eggs (scrambled+cheddar cheese)(scrambled+can of tuna), potatoes (microwave baked+cheese+hot sauce), tuna (tuna+bbq sauce)

these are just some of the things ive come up with that are actually damn good.

good luck

I think it's important to have fun and enjoy what you're doing. Don't try to follow things so strictly or be so strict with yourself that you're beating yourself up everytime you have a bad day lifting or cheat a little on the diet or don't make the gains you think you should have made.

I personally do not agree that there is 1 specific way to do things and if you follow this list of things it'll work for you. You have to start out with the basics, then make adjustments so that it works for you, you tweak it along the way so it fits your goals and your lifestyle. Do your research, be flexible and try different things and if they work keep them, if they don't work, then toss them aside and move along to something else. That's part of the fun to be able to expose yourself to all the different diet and workout ideas and just try them out to find what works.

So just lighten up a bit, relax when it comes to everything, be patient and find out what works for you and most important just have fun and enjoy it.
