I am posting under my Husbands account and am looking for help to achieve my goals. I am 24 yrs old, 5'5" and weigh 121 lbs. I have been fairly active doing cardio 45 min to an hour for about a year 4-5 times a week. My goal is to lose fat and gain muscle..I really just want to be as lean/healthy as possible. I started lifting weights with my Husband about 2 weeks ago and am already seeing muscle definition in my arms and abs. However my legs seem to be getting bigger and don't look very toned at all they just seem bulky. I have also gained 3lbs and 2weeks and don't really get why since I have completely changed my diet and workout 6 days a week. I know I just started and won't see real results this soon but..I just don't understand what I may be doing wrong. All of you women look amazing on here and are an inspiration to me. If you could please give me some input on what I should continue or what I should change please let me know. Here is what my diet/workout consists of:

7am- multi-vitamin,flaxseesd, 1/2 cup of oatmeal, 1 banana, 2 cups of coffee

How many calories are you eating? Your eating plan is off balance. You need more protein and healthy fats. Everytime you eat you need a protein source, a clean carb and healthy fats...

The right diet is what gets you lean so cut back on the some of that cardio...it's too much. Focus more on the weight training it gets you better results.

Legs are always last to lean out and again it falls back on the diet.

Good luck keep at it.

Thanks for the quick response. I thought I was maybe doing to little cardio and thats is why my legs are getting bigger. Can you tell me some good sources of protein(besides chicken/shakes) and healthy fats and when I should add them in? Thanks again!Does anyone else have some advice for my diet/workout?

My suggestion would be to toss out your scale.

Look in the mirror as your pulse on whether you're where you want to be.

Your workout plan looks fine to me. Just be sure to change it up every 5 weeks or so.
