Hello everybody. I'm new to this site but I've been lifting for years. What do you all do at your house before going to the gym to get motivated and be ready? I personally eat a banana or some type of fruit and then listen to some pump up music either rap, techno or rock, and I'll do one concentration type exercise for my mind. What is your routine before hitting the gym?

I just pack my little jum bag, make sure I have everything, listen to some music, and sip on my superpump while walking to the gym from my frat house, and thinking of nothing but weightlifting, telling myself when I get there there is no messing around, don't get distracted by the girls, etc.

I make coffee- make SP250 then drink- Use facilities- feed cats-let dogs out- drink coffee while watching sportschecking BBCOM- one hour after making coffee I hit the weights, bow flex, floor, kettle bells.

haha thats funny, I was sipping my SP250, getting ready for the gym when I came across this thread and saw that it seems its everyone elses N.O of choice as well.

Other than that, I had a banana, my SP250 and I am currently listening to Hatebreed.

I eat a nice high protein meal about 1.5 hours b4 gym.
Then about 45-30min pre w/o I drink my White Flood and Green Mag.
Then I try to focus on lifting, and get motivated.

I don't really do anything. I mean others at the gym are more then enough motivation for me.

I work.

So therefore I drive to the gym, change, and go lift. Don't need no extra motivatin'!!!

I remember other people's negative comments, or the times I've quit or failed at something. I feed of negativity. I feed off the people who said I couldn't or I'm not. I remember getting tossed around like a ragdoll in high school football, things like that. Basically, I turn negatives into positives. It's how I operate.

Oh, and I always have to have motivational music like Soulfly or Hatebreed. I'm crazy like that.

watch some frank mcgrath on youtube, find the loudest most pumping music i can find, and leave for the gym ready to kill whatever im training...best thing i find is picturing where you want to be training wise in a few years time and each day is a baystep closer to where you want to be, never waste a day...

I usually read stuff on these forums while listening to my Rocky music. Never even seen the Rocky movies though but in high school for 4 years straight my coach made us listen to Rocky music in the weight room so now it just kinda stuck with me. Used to hate it but now it's the only thing I can stand when lifting. I love rap music but can't lift to it.

Drink a cup of tea, drink water, drink 1 bottle of No-Xplode Igniter Shot, maybe even watch parts from Pumping Iron or some wrestling videos on Youtube and then I am ready to go for a long workout.

I also wear a sleeveless shirt in the gym unlike others in my gym, I wear at least 7 different colors on 7 different days to feel fresh in the gym all the time.
