I'm sure this has been beaten to death already... I've managed slim up over the past year. Went from 205 to a solid 180... I'm trying to put on more muscle now but don't seem to be making any gains. I drink about 4 cups (measurement cups) of coffee pretty much every morning. I also supplement about 100 grams of Whey every day and eat 4-5 meals. Don't take any other supplements. I've heard caffine constricts blood vessels, is this true? Anyone think the coffee is keeping me from putting on muscle?

Thanks for the opinions.

You'll be fine. Drink enough water to replace what's lost from coffee.

Why? Caffeine is a very mild diuretic, and you barely lose any water from it.

For example.

If you drink an 8 oz cup of coffee, the caffiene will cause you to release maybe 2 oz of that, leaving you with 6 oz of WATER. So you still have a net gain of 6 oz, there is not loss to make up for.
