ok so i read that instead of eating carbs alone you should always try to incorporate some kinda of protien because it helps "counter-act" the effects carbs have on your body (im not really sure how... i think it has something to do with the insulin responsene but thats not my question) anways i was wondering if this rule only applies to whole-food protiens or if protien shakes have this same "effect" ..like if i had a shake while eating some popcorn you think im still "counter-acting" the effect of just eating plain carbs?

High protein, moderate carbs for each meal
