View Full Version : How much of my protein should be whey?

In addition to my typical diet, how much whey should I consume if I am wanting to bulk a bit? I usually have 1 scoop in a glass of milk right after I work out. Also, how big of a difference is adding 2 scoops per day?

1 scoop a day is fine, try and get the rest of your protein through whole foods. If you cant? then go ahead and have a couple more scoops a day its not going to kill you.

as much as needs to be.

I try to get in 100g+ a day from whole sources, and get however much else I need from whey

Most people just have 2 scoops after training and that's it, but besides that it's best to get the rest from your food meals.

Me, i have 2 scoops after gym, then 2 scoops before bed. So about 100g total from whey, and 250-300g total from food itself through the day & night.

Anyway regardless, if you're looking to bulk up like you said, it's overall calories that matter. Don't purely worry about the whey shakes. Place your focus and attention elsewhere.

I don't take any whey, I just eat whole foods and get all my protein through that.
