Does anybody else have self control issues with peanut butter? I'll buy some natty peanut butter one day and in 3-4 days I've eaten it all. The way I eat it is I put a few teaspoons into a cup and microwave it for 35 seconds. Then when it's nice and melted i eat it with a spoon with a glass of ice water on the side. I can't stop eating it though. I think I should quit buying it and stick to flaxseed and fishoils. Does anybody else have that problem?

well your problem is that peanut butter is alot of calories but not alot of food. You might find that if you eat it with celery (ants on a log) that might help. You will be adding basically no calories from the celery, but you will be adding alot of fiber, and some nutrients as well. It will take you longer to eat it, rather than 5 seconds with a spoon, which will give your brain time to respond. Also, fiber + the water you are drinking will make you feel more full.

You have no idea. That's why I only eat 2tbsp of PB per day, then lock it in my car overnight. I can't handle it.

It haunts me....

...i am weak.

Not really. I've had the same jar of PB in my fridge for the past 7 weeks. I eat it sparingly. I don't understand this PB addiction.

writing down what i eat, keeping a log, is the best way for me not to pick at things throughout the day.

The best way to deal with a food addiction you can't control is to get the stuff out of the house-don't buy it. ;)

Yeaah. Maybe if you don't warm it up you'll like it less. If you like it less you'll probably eat less:D

I admit, I'm obsessed too. I have been really good at limiting myself though. I have been able to stick to 4 tbsps a day. you just have to do your best to walk away from the delicious calorie filled jar.

maybe people think they "binge" on peanut butter because there diet lacks the proper amount of fats. So eating 6 or 8 tbsps of PB is your bodies way of fixing the deficiencies you create. Just throwing that out there.

I mean, other than the large amounts of meat I get to eat on a diet like this, i've always enjoyed PB.

So being able to eat it also in the diet always temps you to have more lol. For example i love adding it into a bunch of random things just for the taste

Hell yea, I am addicted to peanut butter too, I'm glad I am not the only one. I thought about stopping it but, it's just too good.

I have the same problem with mixed nuts, so I quit buying them; however my dad sent me a 2lb jar for my birthday on Sunday and its already more than 1/2 way gone :)

Especially in the summer time I tend to keep my fats coming from fish oil, EVOO, flaxseed oil, avocados, and milled flax...plus the indirect sources from fish and other foods.

HAHAH I remember watching it as a kid.

for those who've never heard of that movie. It's about a kid who goes bald and puts peanut butter on his head to cure his baldness. Well it works a little to well.

So for all you guys going bald, peanute butter isn't only good in your whey!

Next time your dropping one in the toilet, eat some PB and take a deep breath(or two). Should fix the addiction :D

It's not like its some kind of superfood. It's just processed peanuts with added salt. Eat liver, now that's a superfood.

I dont buy it anymore, because I am weak. xD

I use peanut butter in my homemade calorie shakes.

2 tables spoons full, 3 times a day, everyday.....

I noticed good results with a higher fat and lower carb diet...so I'm sticking to it!!

I usually mix my PB with cottage cheese. Makes the CC taste way better. I'm still trying lots of different ways to eat CC but mixing it with PB is how I usually eat it.

i dont think eating PB everyday is too much. the only fats i eat all day besides the minimal amount in lean meats are from flax oil, fish oil and PB.

Melted in the microwave with some milk chocolate chips is so yummy, along with some honey on top.

...sorry, maybe that's not the help you were looking for.
