No link, just reported by Michael Smith on ESPN. Apparently they're very very close to finalizing a deal.

because they're idiots lol. Well, they didn't say what the Chiefs would be getting in return. Also, you have to factor that Tony Gonzalez is an aging player who only has a few good years left in him, if that. If you can get a couple young players in return and maybe a draft pick or two, you never know.

Good deal for the Falcons but it doesn't really give the Chiefs anything else to build on this season (well obviously, since the pick isn't till next season). Could work out in the long run though.

2nd rounder next season! hes still playing as the top TE in the league even at his age. the falcons stole him in my mind, he can make a huge difference on their team with that run game, deep passes, and now a great safety blanket for ryan to get first downs with

I think it was more of a personal favor to Gonzo. The Chiefs arent doing anything this year, he only has a few years left and Pioli let him go somewhere to compete. Next years draft looks like it is going to be loaded.

Another thing the Chiefs did was release WR-Will Franklin, no big name, but he was very promising and looked like he could have been a major player.

I think Sippio was sicker than Will Franklin. At least Sip had the potential to house anything when he got his hands on it.

Right on! I'm so happy for Tony he really needed to get out of KC. They were holding him back big time. I'm sure he'll become Matt Ryan's favorite target.

Yeeeeesssssss!!!!!

I couldn't be happier. I was a little hesitant about them giving away a 2nd round pick, but now that it's next year's when they probably won't need the pick as bad, I think it's a good deal. Can't ****ing wait to see Atlanta's offense this season.

Eagles never provide McNabb with weapons (minus time with T.O.).

x2, I was thinking noooooo if it was this years pick but yeeeeesssss since it's next years. That really makes all the difference in the world. Now we still have the whole draft to fix our defense for this year.

THIS X10000

Bring Abraham some damn help Thomas. I'm so scarred that if Abraham gets his typical injury then our whole defense is shot

Well that core strengthening program he did last offseason apparently helped b/c Abe played the whole year, although he was nicked up most of the season.

Great deal for the Falcons. It's amazing to think how far they have come from just two seasons ago.

yeah i was so excited to hear this ****!
Tony G ftw. he will help in not letting teams stack the box so damn easily. you know EVERYBODY was worried about turner and that rushing attack.

HUGE target over the middle. now we just have to DO WORK in the draft this weekend! lets go DEFENSE!

Falcons are gonna have one of the best offenses in the league this year IMO. Ryan, Turner, Norwood, White, Jenkins, & Gonzalez. Which they will probably need it, because they have ONE HELLUVA schedule.
