I'll post it in here now for the sticky

4-oz cream cheese
3 eggs
1/3 cup cream
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
2 cups mixed italian cheese (I also used the Mexican cheese blend and it is fine)
1/2 cup pizza sauce (I used Healthy Choice Pizza sauce)
1 cup of mozzarella cheese
pizza toppings of your choice:
pepperoni ,ham, onion, green pepper, mushrooms, bacon, browned sausage or seasoned ground beef, additional parmesan cheese for topping
Preheat oven to 375
Beat together cream cheese and eggs till smooth. Add cream, parmesan cheese, and spices and mix again.
Spray oblong casserole dish with PAM. Sprinkle 2 cups italian cheeses into dish and pour egg mixture over it. Bake at 375 for about 15 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes.
Spread on pizza sauce, sprinkle 1 cup of mozzarella cheese and pile with your favorite toppings. Then sprinkle with more parmesan cheese. Return to oven and bake til bubbly and browning. Allow to stand 10 minutes before cutting.
I think this is as close to the real thing as you can get !

Roxie~ ;)

turned out very good!

few questions though:
1) how long will; this keep in the fridge?
2) my gf used a smaller dish so it became taller nad had a very soft egg bottom...if we used a larger dish and made it thinner would it be a bit firmer/crunchier on the bottom portion?

Yes..if you use a larger dish..it will come out crispier on the bottom..I found out that using a cookie sheet seems to work best for me...then crust is thin, but crispy..and cook the crust untill it's the consistency as you would like..cause as you know...once you add the topping..the crust wont crisp up.

Nice hearing from ya...been like a thousand years!

I really wanna try this. What would a serving be? 4 OZ's? How many calories you think in 1 serving to put into Fitday?

CFree, with all of these recipes, what I do is keep track of everything I put in it and then I know what the nutrition totals are for the whole thing.
Then, if you cut it into 4 slices, you know that if you divide that total by 4, then you're getting that many calories/grams/etc.

Good call!

Edit:

I don't know how big this is. But if you cut it into 8 slices with cheese only its
270/20F/4C/18P

Not bad!!

EDIT: REP TO YOU!! Just made this creation. Wow. This is def the closest thing to pizza

I made this tonight for dinner . . . it was pretty darn tasty!

The 'crust' was a little flimsier than I had hoped (but maybe I didn't let it cook long enough before I put on the sauce and toppings). Tastes amazingly like regular pizza. And here was a good test . . . my 7-year-old son comes up and grabs a slice, chows it down, and then grabs another without noticing that it wasn't normal pizza.

I'll definitely make this again!

larger pan/thinner pizza, and a bit longer cooked, and the crust hardens up a bit better

I used a cookie sheet . . . but it wasn't the biggest one I have in the house. Next time I'll try the larger one and cook the crust a little longer to see if that helps. Thank you!

Still--it was pretty good pizza!

How many carbs is in it and how big is it actually?

erock93
04-11-2008, 11:29 AM
if done right the only carbs should be from the tomato sauce, which depending on the brand, can be really lower or a little high. for me, this almost filled my 12x8in casserole dish.

btw, for the recipe listed, the macros are:

2280/165fat/21carb (not sure about net, includes trace carbs from cheese and eggs)/120protein

(no toppings included)

285/20fat/2carb/15protein per slice if there are 8 slices

(again, no toppings included)

I'm making this tonight

Pizza 2
http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/4695/0504081837bjq5.jpg

I ate most of pizza 1, which was loaded with pepperoni with less mushrooms. I ate half of it, and I estimate I got about 10g carbs (not including net cuz im too lazy to figure it out), 90g fat, and 65g protein; 1200 calories.

The crust wasn't thin or crispy :[, but it was amazingly delicious, like a quiche. Basically, I made one mistake: the plates were too thick. If I had a better pan, the crust would have been crispier and easier to eat (I had to eat mine with a fork and knife).

It was amazing. It was delicious. I loved it =]

This is THE best keto recipe. This pizza honestly tastes as good as Round Table in my book.

...and I was a little freaked out by the crust tasting like a quiche comment because that sounded disgusting to me but I was surprised to find that it was nearly the consistency of bread and that the cooked cheese dominated the taste.

That was great pizza...

My toppings: pepperoni, turkey bacon, and I used a tomato alfredo sauce instead of regular pizza sauce...

all I gotta say is... voila!

EDIT: I should have baked the crust longer.... still a little soft in the middle (I used a glass 9 x 6 pan)... so maybe next time I will bump it up to 20-22 mins, or use a larger pan

Have you ever considered going with a more firm base like pork rinds/almond flour/flax seed to help firm it up? I usually use a pork rind/egg base and have came out with some very crispy/tasty thin crust pizzas. :D

Interesting...

I had flax seed meal in my fridge...

next time I should put some in the crust mix, and see how it turns out...

thanks for the suggestions...

I loved this pizza aside from the crust.

eggs in pizza is just nasty imo.

is there anything else i can use to get a firm, crispy crust?

I cant wait to try this recipe!

I have taken the liberty to convert the measurements to metric, for other european dieters:

115 g cream cheese

3 eggs

1/3 cup (80 ml) cream

1/4 cup (60 ml) grated parmesan cheese

1/2 tsp. oregano

1/4 tsp. garlic powder

2 cups (480 ml) mixed italian cheese (I also used the Mexican cheese blend and it is fine)

1/2 cup (120 ml) pizza sauce (I used Healthy Choice Pizza sauce)

1 cup (240 ml) of mozzarella cheese

pizza toppings of your choice:
pepperoni ,ham, onion, green pepper, mushrooms, bacon, browned sausage or seasoned ground beef, additional parmesan cheese for topping

Preheat oven to 190 C
Beat together cream cheese and eggs till smooth. Add cream, parmesan cheese, and spices and mix again.
Spray oblong casserole dish with PAM. Sprinkle 2 cups italian cheeses into dish and pour egg mixture over it. Bake at 190 for about 15 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes.
Spread on pizza sauce, sprinkle 1 cup of mozzarella cheese and pile with your favorite toppings. Then sprinkle with more parmesan cheese. Return to oven and bake til bubbly and browning. Allow to stand 10 minutes before cutting.

i tried it and it was good but it was really salty for me! probably cause of all the cheeses esp parmesan for the dough. any suggestions?

I used to make this when I first tried keto, I think about 6 years ago. I forgot about this one!!

For the crust, I would line my glass casserole dish with pepperoni slices, then pour the egg/cheese mix on top. I?ll have to try this again, it was so tasty!
