View Full Version : Good oatmeal recipe?

I just bought my first pack of porridge oats and made this..

1 cup oats
1 cup water
1 tsp SF Instant chocolate drink

mixed it all up and nuked it for 3 mins..n it was gooeey n not chocolatey at all!! what did i do wrong...any other good recipes u guys got? I cut up bananas n added them on top but it still wasnt good enuf...i swear i cudve puked!

350 ml of milk (just under half cup? i dunno tbh, someone translate)
1tbsp honey/jam

1.5/2mins nuke.

350 ml = 1.5 cups.. n i cant have too much milk...am lactose intolerant :P hence the water..

Cook it slowly on the stove top & see if that helps. Oats generally need a while to cook unless they are "instant".

I always cook my old fashioned oats in the microwave and they turn out fine, takes like a minute 20. Add water and cook, if they look dry after add a splash of milk. I've never added chocolate drink mix though. I like adding nuts(walnuts or almonds), honey, cinnamon, or fruit.

do u add the fruits b4 or after microwaving?

Add everything after you cook it. I cook mine for 3 mins or so then add a tbs of PB and a scoop of whey. Sometimes i'll add honey instead though. I like to add my fruit after so it doesn't get all mushy but it's up to you.

i eat em raw in a shake along with whey, banana, tblspn of peanut butter, and milk... if i have berries i add those too
