Love Pujols but I'm not too sure about his elbow. Apparently they just "rearranged" his UCL. Not really sure how that's gunna work out.

Pujols is a slightly better hitter. ARod does so much more defensively. He's gotta win out.

IMO I think Pujols is better defensively, but they do play different positions.

I'd take Pujols offensively and defensively, granted it hard to judge b/c both play different positions but Pujols is solid all the time, A-rod had a stretch a few years ago where he COULDNT not make an error. As far as character and leadership is concerned Pujols blows A-fraud out of the water.

Pujols all the way...as far as defensively goes, go watch the 06 WS game 5 game. That diving stop and throwing the ball off his back to a sprinting pitcher to get Polanco by a step...that was an awesome defensive play and he's a gold glover. They do play different positions, but Pujols is very solid defensively and he is a much better team player.

I think a-rod as a SS may be on the same level defensively as Pujols is but definitly not as a 3B

Pujols is excellent at his position, but first basemen who can play good defense and hit for power are a dime a dozen (note: I'm NOT lumping Pujols into that category). It takes WAY more skill to field at short (or even third) than first base, and that has to be taken into account. ARod is a top of the line defender and top of the line hitter at positions where the majority usually suck at one or the other.

Edit: totally just saw the OP was only asking who's the better hitter. I'd change my vote to Pujols if I could.

Pujols > A-Roid.

Pujols is by far the best hitter of the past decade, if not longer.

I love Barry Bonds, but I'm not counting him for obvious reasons.

Pujols no doubt. Better career avg, lesser strike out, and higher slug %.

I bet Pujols will have more HR than Arod when he becomes 34 yrs old.
