True, the 14-8 road record scares me, but the Cavs getting 5 points? Come on now...

Meh, The Magic will win by 10.

There.

Seriously, while LeBron is amazing..his cast is over-rated. Especially Mo Williams.

why so ez?

uh are you kidding me? mo williams scored 43 points, had 8 rebounds, and dished out 11 assists last game. in that same game lebron had 23 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 assists. both shot 50% and above. that is unstoppable. dwight howard might go off but i think ben wallace is one of the few players in the nba that have the strength to keep dwight in check. i would bet on the cavs at least covering if they don't just win.

Negatron617

this is a tricky one
i can see the cavs covering easy and perhaps pulling out a squeeker but if Orlando hits a couple 3s early against an injured Cavs team I can see the Cavs losing by 10+

and why so ez....i dont think wallace for however strong he is can "keep dwight in check"

we'll see tho

Moneyline on Cleveland is +170. I don't care if their road record isn't so hot, that's some pretty decent payout. I might throw 25 or so on there.

If Cleveland wins outright you get 170 bucks for every 100 you throw down.

My vag usually prevents me from betting the money line.

I almost always take the points. Though Sunday I'm going half on the Cardinals money line, half @ +7.

It would infuriate the window shoppers, though.

well you can tell em that you can either have your own long thread or youll keep making weekly threads....their choice....but if anyone had any questions or whatever they would know which thread to go to instead or posting a thread like i have done asking about real betting. its whatever tho.

Well no, it scales accordingly. If you put down 10 you win 17, 20 you win 34, 50 you win 85, etc.

What is the difference between (-) and (+) money lines?

What is the difference between (-) and (+) money lines?

+ means the payout is more than 100%. Like if I put 100 on the Cavs and they win then I get 170 bucks. For - it works the other way around, and the payout is less than 100%. For that same game, Orlando is -200. That means I have to bet 200 on them just to win 100 if they win (or if I bet 50 then I win 25, etc).

Greg1983
01-29-2009, 11:05 AM
Usually I always try to avoid moneylines, but sometimes I'll jump on an underdog if I think the payout is stupidly high. Or the few times I bet on MMA, obviously, I have to do a moneyline as there's no such thing as a point spread.

Magic are pretenders.

Yeah, money lines can be great sometimes. I once had a 3 team NCAA men's b-ball parlay, and 3 teamers usually pay 7:1. However, because I had taken the ML on two underdogs (and they were only 2 and 4 point underdogs), the odds jumped to about 11.3:1. Just for those 6 points.

Long story short, that 3 teamer hit, and the result was PROFIT.

I'm a die hard cavs fan and I would take magic on money line or spread.

Cavs are very suspect on the road. They are gonna either gonna lose or win by like 3 points.

After mo's big game they might come out strong though. They are a very intense team and they can lose that intensity really fast on the road and give up halfway through the game.

I'm going to have to disagree with you. I think they are legit and they have size. They are huge all around minus Jameer but he is a pitbull.

I think the magic beat the spread. Is Big Z back yet for Cavs? I know West is still out. They aren't the same without those 2. I think Magic will beat them by +5 unless they shoot horribly from behind the arc.

I should start betting on this stuff. I would like you to make one of those thread as well sweettouch

lol. nah, but i really feel the Cavs are over-rated. Granted, Mo Williams is an upgrade, but they still need a legit #2 player opposite James. Until then, it's an average supporting cast.

Lol at all the morons talking bad about Cleveland.

We have two starters out, including one of the best centers in the league. Instead of 7'3" on Howard we had to stick with 6'8" Ben Wallace.

no wonder why you are in the red.

Lebron has hit game winning shots in the playoffs. He had a sick jumpshot just a couple games ago with 0.1 seconds left to win the game, did you happen to miss that? His jumpshot is pretty nasty this year.

And as far as not being a great defender, you need to gtfo. I can promise you he will be 1st team all NBA defense this year. Have you watched him at all this year? He has been lockdown on defense.

You are such a ****ing dumbass it isnt even funny.

I went to a game a couple years ago against the Bobcats that went to overtime and he hit a step back jumper to win it.

In the Washington playoff series a couple years ago he made game winning buckets in both game three and game five.

He also hit a game winning shot with 2.2 seconds left against the Detroit Pistons in game five double overtime of the eastern conference finals, the game where he had our last 25 points and ended up with 48.

"Not even Michael. Let us get that out of the way right now. What LeBron James did Thursday night in the Eastern Conference finals was not Jordanesque. It was Mike to a max not even he reached."

regarding 48 points. do numbers 8 and 1 tell you anything about some player? One game doesn't prove anything..Yesterday lebron got shut down on offense and couldnt do ****. Two days ago, Kobe took over the game and got lakers up 3 with 30 seconds to go until refs called bs foul on him. Lakers couldnt do **** without kobe. Lebron starts games, he doesn't finish them. http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2008/02/lebron_james_setting_record_fo.html

Lebron set a record last season for fourth quarter scoring average.

http://www.82games.com/0809/QTR4S11.HTM

And imagine that, he is leading the NBA in fourth quarter scoring this year also.

Production per game (for the quarter)
Team Player Gm Min +/- +/- Fga Fg% Pts
CLE James 36 316 117 +4 5.6 .485 8.1
MIA Wade 40 363 37 +1 5.6 .440 7.4
LAL Bryant 37 288 93 +3 5.4 .440 7.3

And he is shooting .048% better than Kobe in the fourth quarter.

Now what?
