just had a quick question on the whole gallon of water per day, does your body eventually get used to this and you not have to go to the bathroom so much??

sucks to go to the bathroom every 20 min. haha

I drink a gallon everyday for the last year just out of habit and i'm still making the 20 minute trips.

Annoying as all hell, I know.

How would your body get "used" to it? That water has to go somewhere. Unless you have increased insensible losses, you WILL pee it out.

is it possible to sweat more often/greater volume if you are properly hydrated? i could swear i notice a correlation.

Euvolemic vs hypovolemic? Yes. But drinking beyond that isn't going to make you sweat more.

fair enough

changed 'properly hydrated' to precise terms.

I peed 43 times one day. I'm ALWAYS drinking water....usually 2+ gallons a day, not including workout, coffee, energy drinks, etc.

i keep a 1 litre bottle with me throughout the day and sip on it. i no longer have to go to the frickin' bathroom every 20 mins. just remember the quicker you drink it, the more often you'll have to go...the slower you drink it, the the less often. TRUST ME...THIS WORKS!!!

You will get used to it however don't expect that u will pee 2-3 times per day when drinking 4+ litres of water, coffee, taking creatine etc.

if ur peeing every 20 mins then ur body is fully hydrated, so u wont need to drink as much

How much is 1 gallon?

I drink 7-8L daily. Loveee it. I don't have to piss as much as i used to though, strangely enough. Guess it's used to it.

My skin is thinning out nicely since i dropped a bit of sodium from my tuna & fish & cottage cheese too.

Me too. I piss ALL the time. I wake up and have to pee too. It gets annoying sometimes. I'll easily drink a gallon and my urine's always light yellow.

3.87L is a gallon. So you drink over 2 gallons.

8 Liters is a little more than 2 gallons

Did I say it was?

I also don't think it's a bad thing. Allthat water/coffee/energy drinks certainly have to go somewhere.

1 Gallon a day for 4+ years now and I'm still not used to it.

I pee constantly, and it won't change unfortunately.

To all those peeing q20 minutes (especially those complaining about it), why not just drink a little less?

I drink a lot of water throughout the day as well but once I start peeing very regularly every 20 mins or so and my pee is very light in color I know im fully hydrated and I back off a bit. Then by the time I workout I take in a lot of water and I manage to stay fully hydrated without just peeing out useless amounts of water.

That's absurd. No need for over 2 gallons of water a day.

I seriously don't know how a person could consumed 2 gallons a day. I can barely down 1 gallon over a 15 hour period.

And to think that I thought those contests where people try to drink a gallon of milk in an hour were rigged. Yikes!

I always have my liter of water with me, I drive a lot and I'm at a computer a lot. It's just there, so I drink it. I don't think you can drink too much if it's spaced out throughout the day.

I'm so used to it, I also get in a raging bad mood if I haven't drank water in awhile. I'd say when I'm home it's every half hour, when I'm on the road it's every 20 mins, and I never wake up in the middle of the night or anything to pee.

For me, yes there is :) Well, around 7-8L anyway. Not exactly too much over 2 gallons there is it?!

I'm active with my job being a personal trainer 6 days out of the week, plus my own workouts, plus everything else. Plus considering creatine intake.

I just carry around one of those big ass 4L milk bottle/jugs. Go through that x2 every day n i'm sweet as.

Man i feel like **** if i don't lol You get really dizzy and all flat n pass out :P

Those are water demanding things. I suppose the creatine could really be the culprit for the high water demand.

Why so much water? Some people take it to the extreme. I understand if you had to stay hydrated in a desert... but 2-3 GALLONS is over the top.

I can't believe people struggle with only a gallon.. i go through 3 gallons a day with ease and probably 4 during summer. Heck I probably have half a gallon just for breakfast..
