I am fully aware that protein shakes are necessary after hard days of lifting weights to assist in creating muscle mass. When bulking, it's obviously very important to consume a couple hundred grams of protein per day. Does this hold true when cutting? Is it necessary to have protein shakes immediately after cardio? Thanks for the help!

protein is important on a cut so that you maintain your muscle while cutting body fat.

i take a protein shake after cardio only because that is how my routine is structured, i lift, do cardio, and then go home to take my PWO shake. you may just want to research it because i don't know what the standard is.

Yes I believe not taking one post cardio is a mistake if you are concerned with trying to keep as much muscle as possible

Yes have a protein shake PWO even during the cutting phase. Protein maintains the muscle mass you have while you are toning your muscles. It also produces a certain degree of satiety (keeps you feeling fuller faster and longer between meals) which is ideal while on a limited amount of calories during this phase.

sometimes I do take shakes, sometimes I don't. I usually just sip on xtend during cardio and then get home and take in a whole food meal like some brown rice and ground turkey breast. But whatever works-everyones different!
