lol @ Roy Williams/ Pacman Jone's huge failures at the most important game of season.

Williams running **** routes, Pacman jones's unneccesary roughing, letting up passes, and fumble.

Also Romo's fumbles.

This Eagles team is hot team that seems to be under the radar of many. Can go VERY deep into the playoffs. I'm bout to order an sticteed eagles jersey but dunno who.

Haha yeah Pacman had a TERRIBLE game. I enjoyed watching Buck stiff arm his ass into the dirt. I also loved watching Romo lying on the ground covering his face after that fumble :D

I'm afraid of Peterson cause he's a beast but our rushing defense is good. And yeah we could play the G-Men again. What a game that would be

Thats what I was thinking going the other way. The Vikes have played awful the past two weeks but they could definately take the Eagles. It would help if Pat Williams returns. Either which way the game goes I think it will be a close one.

The X Factor is the running game. If we can somehow contain AP, the Vikings cannot and will not beat us. If AP has a big day, it'll be tougher.

GREAT THREAD!!!

Before I begin Id like to give thanks to The Houston Texans and the Oakland Raiders. And i cant forget the Cinci Kicker who couldnt beat us in OT in that terrible Tie game we played!!!

Now I think that the Playoff game will only be tough if we dont jump on them early. The Ability to let Adrian continue to get touches will be huge. If we get them down early and they have to pass it will be trouble for Tavaris against our blitz pressure. Also they will not be able to run as much and their crowd will be out of it. But if that crowd stays involved, and they are close enough for AP to stay involved, it could be close.

Either way I think we are too balanced too lose. We finished the year 9th on offense, 3rd on defense.

I predict either A close win, or a big win, but no way should we lose this game. And we also match up better with the Giants now that Plaxico "cheddar bob" burress shot himself. Usually we have to safety shadow him. I see us in the NFC title game. that is real talk!!! and if Carolina plays poorly and falls out, with a couple more good games we could be in Tampa!!!!!! Go Eagles!!!!!!

I hope B.Dawkins never leaves period. See thats the thing with us, our core guys have been there so long they are like family, hell they are family!!!!
When the media wanted D.Nabb and Coach Reid gone I thought that would be the stupidest move yet!!! Both of them have some good football left and I still believe we are one threat away from a title. Can we win this year? yes! But we are going to have to stay on this hot streak, and actually play better than we did vs dallas.

Dallas is a good club, (just keeping it real) but they havent done anything in big games with romo. So I didnt believe in a big win or go home game in philly last game of the season, they would get it done. They rolled over and died. The other playoff teams we face will not die, and especially because we have to go into their houses. Esp. not the Champion Giants! So we have to be better.

I hope to see a deep run though for us for two reasons: One, to keep the core group together because if we do lose and lose badly, i think d.nabb or coach may be gone. i dont want to see that. And two is I dont want the haters at work with their teams already watching at home welcoming me into the club!!!

Dont anyone have video of Dawkins getting pumped for the Cowboys game last week?

I have season tickets in the end zone, row 20 and those tickets are $64.00 a piece.

The ticket prices are very fair, but you have to be on the ticketing service right when they go on sale if you don't want to pay outrageous prices on stubhub.

It's always a tough matchup between the Blue and Green. It just comes down to who makes the least amount of turnovers. The Birds are really the only team in the NFC I see giving the Giants and problems in the Post Season. Their playing hot right now and as any Giants fan knows, that can do a lot for you in the playoffs.

Yeah but, running extra hard gives the D (especially a smart Eagles D) the chance to put a hat or an extra hand on the ball and we know how AD likes to fumble.

Remember, this is also Tavaris Jackson's first playoff game. And he sucks. lol

just wanted to make an appearance in the thread. i have been a fan of the iggles since i was five years old and randall cunningham was running around like a maniac, he was and still is my all time favorite football player. interestingly enough, he ended up rejuvenating his career in minnesota, their opponent this afternoon. i was born in philly and moved to massachusetts when i was eight, and i rocked my eagles starter jackets and hats with pride! anyways, i dont want to write a novel here, just wanted to qualify myself and say hello to all my eagles fan brothers! and to the raiders and texans, and also the bucs and bears, THANK YOU! this year is the year, the playoffs have never been more wide open and there is no clear cut favorite. if we play the way we are capable of playing, nobody in the nfl can beat us. hopefully they show some balance today and stick with the run, because that is when they are at their best. and just for the record, under andy reid and donovan, the eagles have never lost their opening playoff game, whether divisional or wild card, and they have been to the playoffs in seven out of nine years. LETS GO! BEAT THE VIKES! E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!

First off, good job to the Vikings. Very tough team to play. Their fans were also rocking the house.

Now. E-A-G-L-E-S! Great game in the second half by the defense. First half struggled a little to stop the run, definitely cannot do that next week against the Giants. Our defense looked very good out there. Asante Samuel<3. Man Dawkins was crushing people's skulls. lulz.

The offense didn't impress me too much. McNabb had a good game. But the O-Line seemed to struggle a lot to protect him. We have to improve on that next week. I think Curtis had a great day. He made that huge block on the Westbrook touchdown. Also for next week have to run the ball a lot more effectively and split time for Westbrook and Buckhalter.

With that said, lets kill those Giants. :D

I feel you on your view of the game!!!

The Meadowlands are going to be another hostile enviornment. What Westbrook did with that screen was shut the crowd up....We need that in the meadowlands! It will be hard to surprise them because we know eachother so well. Also it should be cold and although we are a cold weather club, the run game will be a factor. we couldnt really run last week vs the vikes, and b.jacobs is a beast! that could be the difference....the gmen arent champs for nothing but what a better way to test the strength of a surging eagles football team!!!!

The Giants D is nothing to write home about. I'm not worried about our run game. It gets no respect. In fact, I hope the Giants players act like Giants fans and brush the Eagles run game off. The key to this game is to stop Jacobs, which they did last game.

Actually, even though Jacobs got hurt in the last game that we won he was still averaging over 5 yards a pop. If he stayed in then who knows, they are well rested now. It's going to be a physical game but at least we're not in a dome.

The Eagles have a VERY good chance of doing what we did to the Giants last time... WIN!

Biggest reason why, we can blitz and they can't just throw the fade to Plax now.

Also, we don't have to double him so we can get that extra man near the line to help out with the run.

I am expecting a good game from the Eagles but I am not one of these fans who ignores reality and i am not saying that anyone here is. But i would be shocked if the Eagles won big Sunday. I am expecting a ugly nasty dirty NFC Rivalry Grudge match between two teams who hate eachother period. I do think that we are more finesse that the giants and i think to win we are going to have to do it in the trenches o-line, d-line, firing off the ball, punchin' em in they mouth. WE have to get dirty!!

Thats how you go to the meadowlands and win dont expect to see d.nabb 26-35 387 yards. Expect to see ugly stats and however turns it over loses!

The more I think about this game, the more I think the Eagles are going to win. Westbrook is hurt and is our most dangerous weapon, but I believe MM is going to have a good game plan and McNabb will be hitting all of his different receivers/TEs/HBs. I think the other players will step up big time in this game.

I don't think the Giants D is very scary either. They haven't sacked McNabb once this year. Kiwanuka is not a good DE. Tuck is going to be playing at half-speed. Their linebackers are not great.

Also, weather forecasts are calling for high wind, which most people say is an advantage for the Giants (their running game), but look at the last game in the Meadowlands. The winds were in the 30s and the Eagles dominated. High wind is really a disadvantage to Eli, because he does not have the arm strength to throw balls into strong winds. McNabb does. Eli will only be able to throw short balls while McNabb will be able to throw semi-accurately 20-30 yards down field. Their running game is good, but Jacobs has only had one good game (11/9/08) against the Eagles in his entire career.

In before Giants fans "discrediting" my post...

Their running game is good, but Jacobs has only had one good game (11/9/08) against the Eagles in his entire career.

dont even try to count the minnesota game. if you think the giants were trying to win that game, youre mistaken.

The more I think about this game, the more I think the Eagles are going to win. Westbrook is hurt and is our most dangerous weapon, but I believe MM is going to have a good game plan and McNabb will be hitting all of his different receivers/TEs/HBs. I think the other players will step up big time in this game.

the weather is an advantage for the giants because of our kickers. our kickers are used to the weather and know the winds of the stadium better than anybody. if it comes down to a last second field goal, or even a fieldgoal in the 2nd quarter...the giants kickers are more likely to make them due to their experience. thats where the advantage lies. and its the truth.

youre wrong about mcnabb though. he wont be hitting all of his receivers. neither will eli. it most likely will not be a passing game. if either team passes, i dont think its going to be spread around the field a whole lot. with 30mph wins, a lot of short slants and quick outs to the TE is what is going to happen alot....and with the eagles thatll be followed by a short dump off to westbrook. i know mcnabb got the strong arm, but the gusts at giants stadium get pretty high. 30mph winds will hurt a lot and make that ball move like crazy no matter whos throwing it.

out of what i just said, im not trying to say the eagles are going to lose. im talking straight up as a sports fan. i think the eagles have all the chance in the world to win. mcnabb and westbrook have to play great for it to happen.

Arizona is going to have a little x-tra motivation due to what we did to them on Thanksgiving! We need to stay focused and bust they behind!! jump on them and make them believe they cannot compete with us.

We beat them in philly though!
and it will be tougher in Arizona but now that its down to the final 4! For all the marbles....i believe our exp. overall on the defensive end will be the difference. I like the cards d. but I think the stars are in alignment for the eagles. beating the teams we have beat on this stretch has to give us some confidence!!!

I dont think the cards are going to put up that many points. Our defense has been nasty lately, the last two games against the Giants they have 1 TD and none today. And our defense has scored as many TDs as we've let in with the past few weeks

Hell yeah Eagles won! My best friend is a Giants fan and he's been talkin **** all season. As soon as we made it into the playoffs I knew we were gonna end up seeing the Giants again. And we took it to them in the first game of the season too so I knew we could do it today. I am a bit concerned about the Cards because I've been right on all my playoff picks except for them. Still of all the teams we could be playing I'd rather face off against the Cards than Carolina. But I'm even more concerned about seeing Baltimore in the Super Bowl although that would be the ultimate redemption for McNaab if they came through to win it.

im not trying to take anything away from philly...but they played bad. they did not play as good as they are. neither did the giants.

both defenses actually played a solid game. both gave up a few big plays. philly did stop the giants twice on 4th down. but also gave up 90yards to jacobs. giants play calling was terrible for most of the game. who runs out of i-formation for most of the entire game....when youre on your own 15 yard line??? (yes mad)

seriously tho...philly had 1 TD off of a solid drive. that was it. the rest they settled for FGs and got a gift in the form of a ****ty pass from eli and just dropped it in for a 2 yard TD.

giants couldnt get a TD for ****. their play calling was disgusting, and direct snap on 4th and 1 with ward is a terrible call when you have a monster back in jacobs.

mcnabb got "sacked" for a safety, threw 2 picks, and could only convert 1 drive into a TD. manning couldnt throw for ****, threw 2 picks, and couldnt convert any drives for a TD.

it was an ugly game.

I actually thought the Giants coaches had a great gameplan going into the game offensively and defensively, it was just the fact that Eli and his receivers played horribly and couldn't execute. Giants Defense played stout throughout most of the game, but that 3rd and 20 that the Eagles converted late in the game when the Giants were still holding onto the lead IMO was the turning point of the game.

were you expecting both teams to have both solid offense and defense? i don't think it can work that way. both teams played well defensively and did what they were trying to do. main thing is stopping the run and giants did just that. philly is better through the air on a day like that because mcnabb doesn't throw lame ducks. a good team wins any way they can with what they have, and being with these conditions, philly had an advantage because of mcnabb's style. you can't blame the loss because you think your play calls were unjustified and the players were not playing their potential. there was a reason giants were calling run play after run play. the away team is always at a disadvantage due to crowd noise, and both teams had to play in the same weather conditions. ****, philly was also given the frozen side of the field. are you just bitter and finding any way you can to justify the giants losing? seriously now....

if everyone played perfectly and didn't make a mistake, wtf do you think would happen? mistakes happen, people have different potentials, philly was the better team in both their wins this season. I read part of that giants thread and was astounded by how cocky the fans were. aceofspades, an eagles fan, was one of the most civil in that thread, lol!

edit: and a ****ty pass from eli? my god how the **** would you handle throwing a pass with 2 defenders directly in your face. could have easily been intentional grounding and a safety .... o wait mcnabb did that and thus handed the ball back to the giants with great field position

Eagles played a better game than the Giants period. That's the reason they won. Giants play calling was straight awful. Both the defenses played very well but, the Giants defenses didnt make the stops when they needed to. Birds converted on way too many 3rd downs and thats a credit to them. There is no justification on the Giants losing because they flat out got beat. The running game was fairly effective in the first half but not enough. Giants fans knew the Birds would stack the line and dare them tho throw and I'm sure the Giants knew that too. However, they made no adjustments to how the Birds were playing and that hurt them. Birds played well and they deserve to move on. I don't think they'll have a problem beating the Cards.

Sure, before the game I'm going to talk smack but, I'm also a realist. You can try to blame refs for bad calls and what not but, that's something that neither coach nor player has control of. they won. they obviously out played the giants if the score was 23-11. but if you think the eagles played WELL...youre delusional and youre taking the victory for more than it was. on the other side, the giants played even WORSE than the eagles. the play calling WAS astrocious which killed them, and Eli played like ****. the defense did played well (as did Philly's) but gave up a few key plays (3 and 20).

the game was closer than the final score indicated. the giants gave up 16 points defensively (the INT put philly at the Giants 5yardline). 16-11. thats an ugly game any way you slice it.

yes plaxico was a huge part of the offense. he was a superstar. his size and athletic ability was dangerous. without him, we wouldnt have won the SB last year. he posted over 100yards recieving the NFC Champ game against the packers, and even tho he only caught 2 passes in the SB, one was the game winner.

he was a big part of the team.

if he didnt come back, i wouldnt feel bad. if he did, i wouldnt mind. but i think they should go after someone who's less of a headcase...like Bolden.

if the eagles play against the cards like they did yesterday, theyre going to lose. if the eagles play like the eagles, theyll stomp out the cards and go to the superbowl. simple.

again, you're not taking into account the defenses as well as weather conditions. arizona won't be a frozen tundra nor will it be exceptionally windy. i'm pretty sure if arizona was playing the giants in the meadowlands they would not have beaten the giants, because the giants are a better team, plus the giants know how to adjust to that weather scenario. gotta play with what nature gives you. philly just had the upperhand. now on the flipside i think it's bull**** the refs weren't paying attention to the playclock in the ravens game. that lead to a long pass. the refs ****ed that one up

i dont give a **** about weather conditions. i know they affected the play, but if the eagles play on the same level they did yesterday, they will get stomped out by the cards who play very well at home. if the eagles play up their potential, it will be reveresed and the eagles will be in SB 43.

if the cards came to the meadowlands instead of the eagles yesterday, they wouldve won. the giants played like ****. plain and simple.

aside from eli throwing ****ty balls, what exactly was ****ty about the giants' performance? the giants lost their previous game to philly, and now this makes it twice in a row. the eagles thrive on their defense, they can blow teams out when their offense is on par. even with playing like that, philly will still beat the cardinals.

He tried to tell you but you want to get offended and think that we're taking something away from the Eagles performance. He said, the play calling was awful. I mean, Jacobs was rested and is the face of the Giants offense. He was ran 9 times in the 1st half. 3 passes on 1st and 5 after an INT. The playcalling by the Giants was horendous.

Actually, on the second time, they should have. The fist time, they should have ran the ball with their back, not tried a 2 yard QB sneak.

Look, we're all trying to be humble here but you're acting like your team lost the game. You're actually trying to make excuses as to why the Eagles won. It's makes no sense. If you're going to ask a Giants fan opinion on what happened, and then completely dismiss it, why even bother asking?

what was ****ty about the giants performance?

giving up a 3-20 to the eagles when theyre backed up at their own 10 yard line. giving up a huge pass to jackson down the sideline. not converting an INT into a TD when you have it at the other teams 15 yard line. calling 11 run plays and 1 passing play in the 4th quarter when youre down by 9, and backed up at around your own 20. not converting a HUGE opening return by bradshaw into 7 points.

the eagles thrive on their defense, but let up almost 5yds per carry to jacobs. they also let up around 30 rushing yards on 3 plays to the giants on one drive...which the giants decided to then throw on 1st and 5 (after just gaining 30 yards on 3 rushing carries).

like i said, the giants played bad.

do you seriously think both the giants and the eagles played well yesterday?

i think youre trying to take more out of the win then whats actually there. the eagles obviously played better than the giants, but they still played bad. both teams played bad. both teams did not play as good as they are. had they both played as good as the are, it wouldve been a much more intense game. would the eagles still have won? possibly. im not saying if both teams played as good as they are the giants would have won. simply that it wouldve been a much better contest.

the giants gave up 16 points defensively. the INT that resulted in a 1yard "run" by mcnabb was a a gift. eli was pressure and made a piss poor throw (say what you want, but eli throws much better than that when he is pressured...im not saying it wouldve been a 45 yard completion, but it wouldnt have been throw right at the defenders chest).

the eagles are better than scoring pretty much 1 offensive touchdown and 3 fieldgoals.

the giants are better than scoring only 3 field goals offensively.

by telling me that I think my team is the best. we just beat the giants and you were writing it off as the giants playing like **** rather than both defenses playing well. and then to say that I think the Eagles are "the ****" because they played well defensively against the Giants. well if that means i think the eagles are the **** then there is an automatic assumption that you think the Giants are "the ****". do you understand that or do i need to type like a third grader? i said about 3 times im not taking anything away from the eagles, yet you STILL think i am.

i giants played like ****. both defenses played a decent game. giants shut down westbrook, and the eagles stopped the giants from scoring TDs.

the giants still let a firstdown on a 3-20, and gave 4 first downs to the eagles via penalities.

the eagles gave up 90yards to jacobs, and another 30 yards to ward.

both defenses did alright. they did their jobs. i dont think either of them played beyond decent. both played good at times, but overall it they simply got the job done.

both offenses were ****ty. mcnabb and eli had 2 picks. the eagles only really had 1 offensive TD where they drove down the field. aside from that and a FG, they couldnt move the ball too well, and the giants just couldnt score.

and obviously i'm not getting THRU to you. I said the defense played well. Philly has always been a bend but don't break defense. One of the top defenses in the league. if their offense didn't make turnovers and give the other teams good field positions they might have done a little better during the year. The Giants have a very fearsome rushing attack. Philly just stopped them when they needed to. and that 3rd and 20 pass play reminded me of the 'pull it out of your ass freddie mitchell catch' in the green bay playoff game a few years ago.

You can't really say both defenses did alright and then say both offenses were ****ty. One side has direct influence on the other, so it doesn't really make much sense. Both offenses had a pretty bad day because both defenses played great. The Eagles defense didn't allow an offensive touchdown all day long, and like you said had two great 4th down stands. The Giants defense played great until the 3rd quarter when Mcnabb made that remarkable play on 3rd and 20, which pretty much broke the Giant's backs and was the turning point of the game.

i just said in my above post both defenses did play a decent game. it wasnt a stellar game from either defense, but they both got the job done. for the giants that was stopping westbrook. for the eagles, that was limited the rushing attack and taking away the passing game. now, they still let up 90yards to jacobs, so i dont think they did too well there. he still averaged almost 5 yards per carry. but yes, the eagles did stop the giants on 4th downs.

i'm going to throw out there that the interception thrown by manning probably killed the giants hope early in the game. you can say it was a bad throw all you want but the fact is that the eagles got in his face, as they planned to do. THAT is a great defensive play and that is how you force quarterbacks to throw erroneously. you can't argue the eagles just happened to trip over the offensive line and magically get in manning's face. Almost every good play has an impact on how the game will be performed later on. that is why teams try to establish a run early, or why a team tries to blitz and cause a quarterback some worry. both defenses played great, but you'll think what you want. giants did the same thing last season as a cinderella team although they weren't 6th seed

i said before, eli throws better than that in pressure. not all of the time. but it wasnt a typical throw. yes the eagles did get in his face and had they not been there, he probably wouldve thrown a completion (actually, no he played so bad it probably still wouldve been a pick). im obviously acknowledging the fact that they did get pressure on him.

why do you think both defenses played great? were you watching the same game i was? the giants gave up a back-breaking 3rd and 20. they had a ton of missed tackles. they should have had atleast 3 sacks on mcnabb but couldnt make a tackle.

the eagles played slightly better defense...obviously they won...but they still let up 90 yards to jacobs...they let up one serious drive that couldve killed them when the giants had 3 rushing plays for 30 yards..but then decided to throw on a 1st and 5.

What I don't understand is on the 4th and inches and 4 and 2 why they wouldn't send jacobs up the middle......he's been doing it all year.
